From National SDG Localization Frameworks and VLRs to sport, action research, investment, and participatory governance, the chapter showcases practical solutions contributing to the broader efforts of the @Local2030 Coalition to accelerate SDG implementation.

For Tanja Obradovic from Serbia’s Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the experience of Niš shows how local SDG action can help strengthen national reporting and multilevel governance.

Building on the city’s VLR experience, Serbia is now looking to scale these approaches across more cities and strengthen links between local implementation and the VNR process. 🏙️

The message was clear: stronger multilevel governance is essential to turning local experiences into coordinated national action.

🌍 As #WUF13 comes to a close, one thing is clear: SDG Localization is no longer a side conversation, it is a driving force behind how cities, governments, and partners are tackling the future of sustainable urban development. 🏙️

Across the week in Baku, we saw local and regional governments shaping global conversations, countries advancing multilevel governance approaches, cities sharing practical solutions, and partners building new pathways for collaboration, financing, and implementation.

From the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments and National SDG Localization Frameworks, to city-led housing solutions, action research, and the @SDGCitiesUN Global Community, the discussions reinforced a common message:
transformative change happens locally, but it cannot happen alone.

WUF13 also showed the power of partnership. Across regions, institutions, and teams, new connections were built, existing collaborations strengthened, and concrete follow-up actions set in motion for the months ahead.
