I will note that there have been plenty of incidents of settlers behaving completely out of control and violently + local police looking the other way. It has gotten much worse since 10/7.
The U.S. should absolutely put pressure on the Israeli government to put a stop to it. Including with serious consequences aimed at individuals responsible.
But again, that wasn’t what this was about. This was a stunt by a guy who otherwise has nothing to offer.
I am very critical of settler violence and think Israel needs to do far more to punish it. But that’s not what this is about.
So what appears to have happened here was an intentional political stunt by someone who has built his entire career on stunts.
@RoKhanna had his Palestinian guides take him into a restricted area that is closed off to civilians without requesting access or coordinating with anyone.
Local security (which Khanna intentionally misrepresents as random settlers) then stopped them. IDF arrived and spent time evaluating the situation. Then Israeli police showed up, determined what had happened, and let them go on their way.
No one was hurt or attacked. No one was threatened. Khanna knew going to a restricted area would get a response and he got exactly what he wanted.
I will note that if a random group goes onto a military restricted area in the U.S., they would also be detained and questioned.
Israel is to blame for letting Khanna plan out this stunt, but that’s exactly what it was. And it was predictably coordinated with the press as he had a NYT photographer with him and waited until they released a story days later to even post about it.
Khanna wants to run for president on this nonsense because he has nothing to offer Americans.
Graham Platner was recruited to run for Senate by a pair of socialist political operatives, Daniel Moraff and Leanne Fan, who determined that another prospective candidate had “a skeleton in the closet.”
The Wall Street Journal published a rare interview with the duo on Sunday who revealed they paid “a whole chunk of money” to vet Platner but managed to turn up neither his Nazi ink nor many of his Reddit posts.
@ABC When a father kills his children, he's an evil monster. When a mother kills, "obviously, she has 'mental issues.' We hope and pray she gets the help she needs." Be aware of the double standard.
Bernie Sanders: "I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that Graham Platner is the next Senator from the state of Maine."
He knew Platner was a Nazi and abuser and proudly stood by him.
More anti-Jewish hate in Spain 🇪🇸: At the running of the bulls festival, a giant sign was unfurled, calling for the destruction of the country where over half of world Jewry lives.
Spain kicked out all its Jews in 1492. I guess they still don't want us to have anywhere to go.
Don’t forget that last time Graham Platner was accused of mistreating women, not only did Ro Khanna defend him, he flew out to Maine to campaign for him.
To everyone celebrating the first flight on Qatar Force One today, understand what you are actually applauding.
A foreign government handed the sitting President of the United States a $400 million plane. American taxpayers then paid to retrofit it, with an estimated cost of at least another $400 million (some estimates far higher), for security and communications work in a Texas hangar since last September.
When Trump leaves office, the plane does not stay with the government. Ownership transfers to his presidential library foundation. In other words, he keeps it.
You are being asked to treat pure corruption as normal, to shrug at a President personally profiting from a foreign gift the taxpayers paid to upgrade.
In any other administration this would be the scandal that ends a presidency.
With Trump, it’s Wednesday.

@TheNewsAgents@maitlis Social media companies could have started day one with a verification system, and they chose not to. If they did verify, 95% of users of social media would not exist, as well as all of the business that flows from that. Imagine what society would be like.
