After going through childbirth again I can once again confirm that epidurals are a miracle that instantly transform a very traumatic experience into a calm and peaceful one and it’s such a better way to meet your baby, there’s no purpose to the pain, you’re just having a worse time for no reason
This is free advice from an expensive psychologist. If you’re an anxious person, do everything for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Anxiety feeds on importance. Don’t make everything a matter of life and death.
Ancestors did not manage ADHD, depression and anxiety without meds; they suffered all that morbidity, crushing distress and dysfunction just had to tolerate.
I see it every day in my patients & families carrying generations of untreated pain through alcohol, asylums and early graves until meds finally gave them some peace.
Treatment is not weakness. It is progress.
The older I get, the more I believe happiness lives in the ordinary. Pets. Plants. A quiet morning coffee. Blue sky. Cotton clouds. Birds singing. The gentle breeze through the trees. A clean, cosy house. Good food. Good hearted simple poeple. So much of life’s beauty is quiet, gentle, and already here. And somehow, one of the sweetest feelings is knowing I get to wake up and meet it all again tomorrow.

A lot of MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn't affect mental health is privilege.
I absolutely fucking love council estates when the sun’s out the whole place turns into Benidorm. Kids screaming up and down the road on scooters with one wheel missing, someone’s Bluetooth speaker blasting tunes that sound like they’ve been recorded through a toaster, and at least three separate arguments kicking off over absolutely nothing. Then you’ve got lads outside their gardens like they’re security guards for a club that doesn’t exist, just nodding at everyone like they’re important. The smell of weed in the air, baby mums running for the ice cream van with their tits swinging all over in their vest tops, smack heads peddling about topless on their kids ben 10 bikes, corner shop rammed full of people getting the beers in, and the ladies walking around with their fannies eating their shorts and little crop tops on like they're in fucking Cyprus. Then you’ve got that one bloke who’s been mowing the same patch of grass for two hours straight, shirt off, red as a lobster, acting like he’s maintaining Wembley Stadium
I honestly cannot stress this enough but please start living and enjoying your life. Your life is passing by daily and all you’re doing is working, paying bills, and overthinking stuff you can't change. Start taking trips and treating yourself. Have fun with this life. You only get one.
