An estimated 194 billion disposable masks and gloves are used every month due to #COVID19. We can't allow our fight for a #NoPlasticWaste future is sidelined.
We need manufacturers, Big Plastic, and governments to create this vital equipment from the plastic that already exists.
Throughout my time at Dartmouth, a small group of students campaigned doggedly for the school to divest itself from fossil fuels. Today’s announcement is a testament to their hard work and to the promise of sustainable investing.
The new IPCC report contains no real surprises. It confirms what we already know from thousands previous studies and reports - that we are in an emergency. It’s a solid (but cautious) summary of the current best available science. 1/2
Being a climate activist gives me all the purpose in life I could ever want.
It will for you too.
We need more people fighting for the safety of our home. Become a climate activist. Please.
Once again: heat records are usually broken by tenths of a degree - not 4.6°C.
We're in a climate emergency that has never once been treated as an emergency. #FaceTheClimateEmergency
We’re way past the point of talking about what’s “reasonable.” Power lines are melting in the heat in Portland. Billionaires are paying no taxes and going to space. Buildings and bridges are collapsing. The only reasonable thing to do is change everything.
“These major plastic bottle manufacturers have known for decades that their products aren’t truly recyclable, and the public deserves to know the truth.” https://t.co/LZEcAGfxyc
Rain, mud, rocky soil, having to fill back in a hole that it took an hour to dig, more rain, more mud, and finally…trees! Thanks to our intrepid team and the good folks at Burlington Parks & Rec, we planted two beautiful firs at Simonds Park today.
"The nations that make up the G7 have pumped billions of dollars more into fossil fuels than they have into clean energy."
Ah yes, that "green recovery"...

Plastic is everywhere.
Most plastic, we use once,
and then we throw away.
We've produced 6.3 billion tons
of fossil fuel-based plastics —
only 9% of it has ever been recycled.
Together, we can and we must
create a world with #NoPlasticWaste.

My deepest gratitude to everyone fighting to wake people up to the climate and ecological crisis.
The reason we're still in this mess is because we're outnumbered by those telling us to go back to sleep, saying sufficient action is taken when it's not.
In 2021, let's change this!
One of our favorite eco-friendly events, Ugly Sweater Day, is happening tomorrow, Tuesday (Cohort A) and Friday (Cohort B). May your sweaters be ugly and bright! https://t.co/FvU0xgSm0V @Bhsredevils2021 @MsFishel @RedDevStuCo#bhschat
