While we want to make sure to keep wild turtles wild, please don't ghost the turtle you've taken in as a pet! Turtles & tortoises are often a lifelong commitment, and we understand that things come up where you can no longer care for them. Releasing them into the wild (even if they were once part of that environment) can be harmful to the natural ecosystem, spread disease to local populations, and more likely than not, your turtle bud can no longer survive in the wild. Please fine a reputable rescue who can help you with relocating your bud! We've started a nationwide list of resources and people to call, but it's not exclusive to what's available. https://t.co/Dl6agSopT1
And if you're a rescue or resource or vet or nonprofit or organization that can help please submit your information so we can continue building this list out!
@footprintsntwk@TravelWeeklyUS Congrats, that is wonderful! We so appreciate the incredible support Footprints has provided to clean plastic from turtle nesting beaches.
