Celebrating NAIDOC Week with Sydney Eye Hospital
We're proud to support Sydney Eye Hospital's NAIDOC Week celebrations, highlighting the importance of equitable healthcare access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year, we're honoured to welcome John, a regional patient accessing our Critical Care Program—made possible through the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation.
Through this program, we're privileged to support the vital work of Aunty Linda, whose leadership helps deliver critical funding grants that enable regional patients to access essential eye care. These efforts are part of our shared commitment to closing the gap in eye health outcomes.
By reducing financial barriers and preventing discharges due to hardship, we're working to ensure that all patients—regardless of location or circumstance—receive the ophthalmic care they need.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous donors. Your support is instrumental in making access better and vision outcomes brighter for our communities.

Cataracts form when the eye’s lens becomes cloudy as proteins break down—usually with ageing, but sometimes from birth or injury. By 80, nearly everyone has some cataract.
Common symptoms: blurry vision, glare, faded colours, double vision, halos, night difficulty.
