STRIKE DAY 9: Hey Nico Wynd, pay your employees on time!
Roughly 30 employees at Nico Wynd Golf in Surrey, BC have been on strike over seniority rights, harassment at work, and pay issues.
In fact, paychecks are consistently late and often short. Management's refusal to fix the issue is one of the key reasons for the strike.
Workers were supposed to get paid this morning for hours worked before the strike started ... but you'll never guess what happened.

A majority of Distribution Centre workers voted for union representation but their certification has been delayed for about nine months now!
Today we said it loud and clear: Respect the votes. Respect workersβ rights. Stop delaying certification.

government.
If the BC NDP loses, thousands of SEIU members will face the prospect of losing their union contracts and jobs through contract flips, and workers will face an uphill battle to maintain employment standards as it becomes harder to unionize and bargain.

bargaining agreements. Successor rights also apply to members in non-contracted workplaces. If companies we work for are sold and bought by a new company, we keep our jobs and our union rights.
