So much for the brave new world…..
What do those who were supposed to be advocating for families and children but who threw their lot in with Government and LAs say now?
10 years after the CFA “whole scale reform is needed “

Adults, with kids lacking opportunities to play & failing to hit Gov activity targets, there’s never been a better time to use play for your own ends!
So here’s Rovers’ new Play Toolkit

We’re happy to workshop this one to death!
Those answers were in response to the key question below.
The reality is that play & organised sport are different, not mutually exclusive, but qualitatively different.
Genuine play doesn’t need a coaching industry.
So let’s not conflate them or hijack the term for our own end
It’s important to understand what play really is.
It’s not a coaching option.
It’s not a phase.
It’s qualitatively different to adult organised play.
That’s not promoting a hierarchy. It’s understanding two things are different.

The decline of play is connected to a decline in places where children can safely gather and make decisions about play for themselves.
Adults are responsible for this …. Sports infrastructure, Governments, schools, parents … all of us.
We can put it right. 1/
So much for the radical new landscape with the CFA and which some so naively bought into…photo opps and breakfasts with ministers, money being handed out to lawyers and charities to trial new initiatives.
It was always going ti be this way

For example we wrote, in October 2014, “We inhabit a country where swingeing cuts are being made to public services…….& where equality is never mentioned as a goal of SEN reform.”
“The emperor’s new clothes”

Perhaps it’s worth remembering comments like this ..
“Christine Lenehan, had welcomed the CFA calling it an "important step to getting better outcomes for children and young people".”
But was never able to point to the evidence which supported that

We’ve been talking about children’s rights for years & trying to live that commitment.
Whether you or your organisation chooses to inform yourself or respect rights is up to you.

@Mr_Tennis_Coach@live4footy@kestrelpsych@JulianAzKhalili@stu_arm@CalJonesJudo And of course don’t forget there’s a human being at the centre of all this with their own motivations, thoughts & feelings. It’s not just about YOUR constraints. It’s about THEIR connection (or lack of connection) with the playing environment.
Can we please, please, please stop calling it 'boys' football'? In apps and tournament invites, I keep seeing 'boys' or 'girls'
It is MIXED football. There's no such thing as 'boys' only football' under SCORY.
@EnglandFootball@WomeninFootball@fa this really is an easy fix!
Safeguarding.... cultures, silence and speaking out.
In your club, league or institution, do you feel safe to challenge or speak out against those who are in power or maybe hold the purse strings or hire/fire or regulate you?
Silencing cultures are not safe cultures.
@BrookandWilde I bought an armchair from you in October (first time customer). It was sold as “delivery before Christmas”. Your staff claim it’s with the couriers (since 2 Dec!} but refuse to say when it will be delivered or to escalate my concerns to a manager. @Jonbluecrush
What about all those people who had photos with Ministers or took Government money for supporting the Children and Families Act years ago? Telling us it was a brave new world and epoch changing.
And yet here we are again…
Incredible political naïveté or wishful thinking?
The Children and Families Act saw government money swirling around, and lots of photos with Ministers. Big charities heralded “landmark” change in the political reality of austerity.
So was it a landmark change or the emperor’s new clothes …from 2015 https://t.co/iXEqzRJlXP
