How do you recognize a high-risk area for avalanches? 👀
“If you’re in a tree line, look for areas and slopes that have been stripped of trees (looks like a meadow) or a line of young ones with larger trees on each side." - Jessie Krebs, Sere Training School.

“Heal yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall."☀️🌛💧 -María Sabina, Mexican healer and poet.

"If you’re caught in an Avalanche, try a swimming motion to “float” on top as best you can. If you’re doing high-risk activities, take a full avalanche course with your friends and wear protective gear along with a personal locator beacon."- Jessie Krebs

Did you know? 🤔
“Avalanches can happen on slopes with angles as low as about 25°, and generally are rare above 40°. They are most common for killing people on about a 30° slope. That’s a much lower angle than most people realize. “- Jessie Krebs

“To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.” -Terry Tempest Williams.
