Introduction to Firefighting students put their skills to the test, deploying and advancing hose lines from a hydrant while comparing the pros and cons of two different hose sizes in action!

Senior SES students have been diving into an urban redesign simulation, reimagining Minneapolis’ K Mart New Nicollet site through expert-led site visits, team collaboration, and innovative planning—final proposals go to the “City Council” (aka SES Staff) this Monday!
Seniors explored three unique urban development sites across Minneapolis and St. Paul as they gear up to pitch their own bold vision for the New Nicollet redevelopment site in Minneapolis!
During Intensive Theme, the Winter Exploration class made the most of the northern snow and ice—cross-country skiing through stunning landscapes and conquering frozen cliffs with ice climbing!
In Art Exploration, creativity goes beyond the canvas! Students designed their own cookies, competed in a fruit bar plating challenge, and teamed up for the ultimate Board Game Cake Decorating Contest—all while gaining inspiration from SES alum and bakery owner Emily Studemann.
Who says winter poetry has to be written by the fire? Seniors braved the outdoors for a “Poetry in the Wild” lesson, crafting 15-line poems about surviving in the wilderness. Their work, reflected their relationship with nature and what it takes to survive!
Practice makes progress! ❄️🔥 Students are working hard to hone their shelter building, fire starting, and orienteering skills before the Winter Final this Friday!
Congrats to the pod champions of Green House and Gold House in this year's Winter Interdependence Olympics! 🏆❄️ Their triumph in challenges like group slalom ski race, team untangle, and navigating the Bering Strait showcased the power of teamwork
