@SEWNova@labourlabel I'm glad that so many of the (female-owned) new ethical businesses are collaborating with their makers and considering them a key part of the team rather than just yet another expense 😊 #EthicalHour
@Takeitupwearit@labourlabel Agree that it's rarely the workers that get the focus but female owners - let's make sure next year is more about the worker
This is such a great piece. Really unpacks the motivation about #ethicalfashion It's not just an analogue for fast fashion in organic cotton but a different/healthier mindset RT 'Don't feed the monster!' The people who have stopped buying new clothes https://t.co/K0RSpsnLWB
@retrospecced@EthicalHour I make my small scale in to an opportunity by creating one of a kind prints. Fast fashion can’t offer the uniqueness and care of detail an artist working can. Though I wouldn’t say no to their marketing budgets...

Agreed they don’t have the budget of big brands but there are a lot of eco celebs out there
@EthicalHour Do you think it comes down to marketing? If major charity shops did a high profile campaign it might adjust attitudes
#ethicalhour#recycle
@retrospecced@EthicalHour @EarthMattersCIC Agreed! If there was a celebrity that could hook a younger demographic to help redefine what’s cool, I think it would make a huge impact.
@EthicalHour@retrospecced Hi #ethicalhour crew, we’re SEWNOVA screenprinting one a kind pieces on to sustainably made tees and tops ⚡️Life long second hand buyer, charity shopping with my mum since a tot
Beware greenwashing. recent flip by fast fashion @boohoo to “ban wool” but don’t even use in their products, highlights greenwashing at worst as they use products far worse - polyester.
wonder if was a PR stunt to use toxic unsustainable textiles as so-called “ethical” choice.
