I used to be a big fan of Kojima’s games but as someone who really doesn’t like the trend of real actors appearing in video games, I couldn’t be less interested in his modern-day output as it seems like that’s entirely what he’s focused on.
It's Time for the finale of Mermaid Mask forreal this time!! Who did the murder and why? And who's secretly been Hawkshaw the whole time?

@JvstJhn I didn’t mean ‘real’ screen actors vs voice actors, as both are obviously real actors. I meant actors’ real faces actually appearing in the game. I accept I could have worded it differently.
@jeanosis_ef Well my argument would be that face wouldn’t be random, it would have been designed intentionally to serve that specific character, story and world. (I also personally find recognisable faces in video games slightly distracting and immersion-breaking, but that’s just me!)
@jeanosis_ef It’s just not my personal preference, I happen to like video game character design to be bespoke, including faces. I’m not saying either approach is bad or incorrect
@Leenat40 Personally I prefer wholly original character designs in games, specifically including the faces. the MGS series, for instance, did basically have that (prior to MGSV, which was a turning point). Just my personal preference, not any kind of statement about which is right/wrong

@FeasiblyDuncan Nope, the 3D clues were modelled by @KindraDantone, an actual expert at 3D modelling and texturing who we hired for the project. (In comparison I only have very rudimentary 3D skills, but it was suitable for the little character chibis at least)
Like Tangle Tower before it, the characters in The Mermaid Mask all have 'chibis' that are used on the map screen, diagrams, etc. But since I learned some rudimentary 3D modelling during Crow Country, I was also able to make 3D versions of the chibis
