The NCAA has voted to eliminate the FCS to FBS transition penalty, allowing North Dakota State and Sacramento State to be eligible to play in a bowl game immediately.
Major win for College Football. 🙌
The NCAA has approved a new "5-for-5" eligibility model that allows athletes five seasons of competition within a five-year window, replacing the traditional four-seasons-in-five-years structure.
The eligibility clock will begin when an athlete either enrolls full-time in college or at the start of the academic year following their 19th birthday — whichever comes first.
Traditional redshirts and most waiver requests would largely disappear under the new system.
I never thought I would see anything more impressive than Tennessee Twitter forcing the Vols to unhire Greg Schiano.
But the collective college football world uniting against Texas Tech and bullying it into getting rid of its starting QB, might have topped that.
This is the most united we’ve been as a country in decades.
BREAKING: QB Brendan Sorsby and Texas Tech are mutually parting ways, @PeteNakos reports.
Sorsby will not play College Football in 2026.

Breaking: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.
Sorsby cannot play in Texas Tech's first two games, which was the penalty his legal team suggested to the NCAA.
As a Michigan fan…
Watching “Trouble With The Snap” live in 2015. Literally stared at the TV like this for 10 straight minutes after it happened.
That was the most “soul leaving my body” moment I’ve ever experienced in sports.
We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.
🚨 JUST IN: NASCAR legend Kyle Busch has DlED at the age of 41 following a hospitalization with a “severe illness”
In-race communications from a recent race, seen below, show Busch requesting a doctor due to a “sinus cold” 👇🏻
41 is FAR too young.
Pray for the Busch family 🙏🏻
Remember last year when Arkansas played all their high-caliber SEC opponents closely, but lost a non-conference game to Notre Dame by 43 points?
L to Ole Miss by 6
L to Texas A&M by 3
L to Tennessee by 3
L to Texas by 15
L to Notre Dame by… 43
The Irish didn’t have much trouble against the “depth” and the team at the bottom of the conference.
And then remember when the SEC got 5 teams in a 12 team playoff field and didn’t even reach the National Championship?
Surely just a coincidence.
COLUMN: Judge Phillip Hays has a bachelor's degree and law degree from Texas Tech — now he decides Brendan Sorsby's future👀
Can Sorsby win?
