Recent publication: Breathing is associated with a 30% change of the lipid-covered alveolar surface. We selected unsaturated fatty acid monolayers as model membranes and investigated the deformation of fractal lipid domains as a function of surface flow. https://t.co/rX4Oxtc98j
We were happy to welcome @sahba_mobini and @UjueMaria to Rostock! Thank you, Sahba, for your excellent talk about in vitro electrical stimulation and ways to describe and compare stimulation parameters.
We are happy to share our new results on the self-patterning of polyelectrolyte multilayer films. Tuning patterned surfaces is key to making them suitable substrates for various applications! Check out our recent publication to learn more about them. https://t.co/4QerLwln4H
Our newest publication introduces an electrically active implant system for the human jaw that can also track healing and bone regeneration via impedance measurements (Patent# DE 10 2021 117 160.1). See https://t.co/sKtQnxirhM
We often conduct numerical simulations. Zimmermann et al. investigated how valid these are. Impedance measurements and voltage recordings reveal that simulations and measurements match in some cases and can be calibrated in other cases to predict the stimulation electric field.
Recently, @Seitz_Lab @SilviaBudday@Boccaccini_Lab investigated the viscoelastic properties of human articular cartilage and substitutes, which are considered key factors for tissue engineering approaches.

We are happy to share a recent paper from @Seitz_Lab @SFB_ELAINE in Materials & Design, showing the combination of a 3D printed titanium scaffold and a piezoceramic by coupling electron beam melting and spark plasma sintering.

(Belated) congratulations👏to our @Boccaccini_Lab@UniFAU former PhD student @ThomDistler (now Dr.-Ing. Thomas Distler) for receiving the best doctoral thesis award by the STAEDTLER-Stiftung Nuremberg 🇩🇪 He was nominated by the @DeptWW_FAU and @TF_UNI_Erlangen Well done Thomas !
Many researchers from ELAINE will present their work at this year's Science Camp of @unirostock. Come and listen to the talks and see the posters next Thursday, Nov. 17. The event starts at 12.45 pm in the Konrad Zuse building (ITMZ). https://t.co/jTYCGMDzlv
Georg Schnell et al. from the @Seitz_Lab at @unirostock have recently published a paper in the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science. They are providing new insights into droplet motion on laser-structured surfaces. Check it out!

The #SFB1270 will participate in the discussion series UNIVERSITÄT IM RATHAUS on November 10, 2022. Ursula van Rienen, Rainer Bader, and Andreas Markschies from Medizintechnik Rostock GmbH will answer questions from interested citizens of Rostock starting at 6 p.m. @HROrathaus
1/2 We are looking for motivated undergrad students from North American, British, or Irish universities who'd like to join one of our projects during a summer research internship through the @DAAD_GERMANY#RISE program. Applications are open until Dec. 15! https://t.co/zRBaQVABmv
Simulation experiments are conducted frequently and repeatedly during model development. We are presenting RASE, a framework for automatically generating simulation experiments for the next model iterations based on provenance. Check out our new paper: https://t.co/ImqOPxXmDr
We are trying to answer these questions using nonlinear differential equations for modeling neurons and data-driven connectivity structures. Check out our new paper. https://t.co/ZlUCFtRpaY
Is it possible to propose a new approach for deep brain stimulation (DBS) using graph theory? How does the connectivity structure shape the dynamics under Parkinsonian or DBS conditions?
Check out our new publication: Long-term stimulation with alternating electric fields modulates the differentiation and mineralization of human pre-osteoblasts. https://t.co/gtfHs1TBjE
