SF are absolutely clear in our opposition to the EU migration and asylum pact. As the date for this approaches next week, real concerns remain about the implications of this FF/ FG decision -
Here Matt Carthy explains the process, how we voted against this at every stage.
Uachtarán Shinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald’s Presidential address - Ard Fheis Béal Feirste 2026.
A better future can be won. Unity. Freedom. Equality. Let’s win it together!

🇮🇪 Forget not the boys of Kilmichael. The West Cork flying column led out by Tom Barry 105 years ago. Today we remember their bravery and sacrifices as we work towards the vision they held so dear - a free, united Ireland.
🇮🇪Our motion to plan and prepare for a United Ireland has been backed by the Dáil. A hopeful step forward on our national journey.
Its time for the government to show leadership, start preparing for unity referendums and plan with ambition for Ireland’s future.
Ní neart go cur le chéile.
🇮🇪 Throughout this campaign @catherinegalway has shown herself to be a person of courage, principle and integrity. She will be an outstanding President of Ireland. We’re behind you all the way Catherine! Go n-éirí leat!

The continued denial of justice for the Bloody Sunday families is deeply disappointing.
Fifty three years ago, the British Army indiscriminately murdered civilians on the streets of Derry.
Over fifteen years ago, the then British Prime Minister publicly acknowledged the role of British soldiers on Bloody Sunday.
Yet, not one British soldier or their military and political superiors has ever been held to account.
That is an affront to justice.
I want to commend the courage and determination of the Bloody Sunday families.
For more than five decades, they have campaigned with dignity and resilience for justice for their loved ones, their deeply cherished sons and fathers, uncles and brothers.
I extend my full solidarity to the families and to the wider community of Derry who will be hurting today.
I will continue to support you all in whatever steps you choose to take next in pursuit of justice.
We’ve just heard a Budget written by Fine Gael which abandons workers and families to look after those at the top. No action to end the rip off, no break on tax for ordinary workers but big tax breaks for developers, and people left high and dry as prices soar out of control. Election promises torn-up and thrown in the bin by one of the most useless governments ever. Enough is enough. You and your family deserve so much better. That’s what we will fight for.

All charges have been dropped against Kneecap’s Mo Chara.
I strongly welcome this decision.
These charges were part of a calculated attempt to silence those who stand up and speak out against the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Kneecap have used their platform on stages across the world to expose this genocide, and it is the responsibility of all of us to continue speaking out and standing against injustice in Palestine.
Sinn Féin is backing Catherine Connolly for President. Combined opposition coming together to take on the government and give people a real choice and hope.
We need to get Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael out of government and to keep them out of the Áras.
Anois an am. Anois uair na cinniúna.
Sinn Féin are ready to get back into the Dáil to hold this failed government to account and fight the corner of working people.
We are determined to work harder then ever to achieve a United Ireland and build a better future for workers, families and our communities.
Over the summer I seriously considered whether I should contest the Presidential election. We are at a key moment, on the countdown to a United Ireland and the next Uachtarán will play a key role.
However, my job is to take on this government and get Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael out of office and to present to the electorate a real alternative in the General Election. I will be giving it my all. #Aras25
It was a pleasure to meet you @RepRashida ✊🏻 Through the darkest days, we hold tightly to our hope that the light of justice, freedom and humanity will prevail. We call again for an immediate end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza and for a future of peace, dignity and nationhood for the Palestinian people.
The struggles of our nations and the friendship between our peoples has stood the test of time. Ireland united, Palestine free. A future we believe in with all our hearts. 🇮🇪 🇵🇸
