“Belfast is Ireland’s second city.
Ireland’s people, north and south are changing Irish society, for all its people.
They are changing it at the ballot box and they are changing it on the streets.
And in this City Council we are contributing to that change.”
@DeirdreHargey
Today I introduced my Homeless Prevention Bill which places a legal obligation on Councils to put a plan in place 60 days before an individual or family become homeless to prevent them ending up in emergency accommodation or on the streets.
Just voted Tá to remove the 8th. We need the biggest YES vote today to ensure equality for women and protect health professionals. It’s time for positive change.
Yes for the women we have lost.
Yes for the families receiving devastating news.
Yes for the terrified teenager.
Yes for the woman alone in the airport.
YES for a safer and more compassionate Ireland.

Canvassed all of Newcastle in an hour & a half. Never seen campaign momentum like it before. This really is unique. Only 6 days to go. @Together4yes@repealeight#together4Yes
Ah now Darragh, that’s a stretch even for you...
Here is what actually happened...
FF & SF voted down FG amendment
FG & FF voted down SF amendment
FG & SF voted down FF motion
We are happy to support FF motions when they deserve it but will oppose those with little or no value. https://t.co/YveRGHUq1o
"I'm voting YES on May 25th because I know it's the right thing to do. We can trust women. We can trust our doctors.
"On May 25th I'm asking you to do the right thing by our women & by our doctors. Vote yes to remove the 8th from the constitution." @MaryLouMcDonald#Together4Yes
I'm voting for a woman I met last yr. Having spent months preparing to escape from her violent partner, she found out she was pregnant. She borrowed from a moneylender to get to London. She eventually managed to leave abuser but spent years repaying the loan. #WhoNeedsYourYes
