☀️ USA: Only about 10% of panels are recycled- it isn't mandated by federal regulations & recycling the devices is currently much more expensive than just discarding them. But the materials in solar panels coming offline each year could be worth an estimated $2 billion by 2050

4. China: Experts say that millions of aging panels could hv significant environmental impacts — especially since 🇨🇳 doesn’t hv specific regulations on solar panel recycling. IRENA predicted that by 2050, about 20 million tons of PV panel waste could be accumulated in China.
