Established in 1995, we are Kansas City’s community-built club. Honoring our heritage. Preserving the legacy. Orgullosamente fundado por Chihuahuenses!
📍 Club Update
The Wanderers are moving south to Olathe, Kansas.
As the club grows, this move allows us to continue building toward the future of the Wanderers.
All youth programs will remain in KCK!
We move forward with the first team - while staying rooted where it started.
I was wondering if anyone would catch it and ask! There are multiple reasons.
To provide some context, the St. James Cross, or Cruz de Santiago, is named after St. James the Greater, the patron saint of Spain. It is a widely recognized symbol, especially in the northern region of the country. As you noted, several clubs, including Celta de Vigo and others, currently use it as well.
We incorporate the St. James Cross to honor our Hispanic heritage. While not widely known, the Kansas Territory was once part of the Spanish Empire, and despite our Mexican roots, we acknowledge the influence of our European predecessors in shaping this region. It is because of their legacy that we stand where we are today.
Additionally, our club name is derived from the Santa Fe Trail, which connected Missouri (the Kansas City region) to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the 19th century. Often referred to as America's first commercial highway, the trail facilitated trade between the United States and northern Mexico, including the region of Chihuahua, where our family and founders originate.
In short, the Cruz de Santiago serves as a symbol that unites our Hispanic heritage, our faith, and our family history. It encapsulates the rich legacy that has shaped us, while inspiring our ongoing mission to serve the Hispanic community—a living testament to the history that came before us in this region.

@Carey321 We also win games when our opponent doesn't pull an English Game on us in tournament play and deny us Extra Time when every other game in the tournament that needed it had it.
