Our fireside chat focused on Ontario's energy future and what it means for Oakville. As Oakville continues to grow, reliable and affordable electricity is essential to attracting investment, supporting local businesses, and creating good-paying jobs. We discussed the importance of building smarter energy infrastructure, expanding generation capacity, and planning ahead to meet future demand.

Since 2018, our government has been strengthening Ontario's energy advantage by investing in reliable, affordable, secure, and clean electricity. As electricity demand continues to grow, we are building ahead of demand to ensure Ontario remains competitive and ready for the future.

China dominates nearly 90% of the world's graphite processing. Canada has the resources to change that.

Met with Eric Miller, CEO of @gbmaterials, to discuss plans to restart the Kearney graphite mine, along with a mill and new refinery facility.

This vertically integrated "mine-to-market" strategy will unlock North America's premier domestic source of EV battery-grade graphite, creating over 300 jobs. This project represents a unique opportunity to bring domesticated mining and processing — strengthening Canada's economic sovereignty and the supply chains of Western Allies.
