There are more people between the 40 yard lines on most issues (centrists/independents). While it's true, most independents lean one way or another, if both Democrats and Republicans continue to try and appease the people on the fringes, you're going to alienate a large section of the voter base.

It's so much deeper than good vs bad @mcuban I'm sure you've heard of Milton friedman but maybe some of your followers haven't. In a nutshell ALL tariffs are bad. If we place reciprocal tariffs to induce reducing ALL tariffs to zero on both sides that's a win.
