Disappointed to see the VAT cut on domestic electricity - creates a more complex tax system; will be hard to undo the policy but no plans on how to fund it permanently.
Few thoughts on some of the problems:
At 72%, the majority of Burnham's new cabinet went to state comprehensives.
24% attended private schools.
This compares to 8% of Starmer’s first cabinet being privately educated.
NEW: After the unrest in Belfast last month, a GB News presenter said there was “no riot” and no burnt homes, despite reports and pictures.
Despite 400+ complaints, Ofcom has opted not to investigate.
Critics say its bar for accuracy now set far too low

🤍 🕊️ A statement on behalf of Kevin Keegan’s family:
“It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75.
“Kevin had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments.
“A double Ballon D’or winner, Kevin was a much loved husband, father and grandfather.
“The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support.
“This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.”

Feeling so sad at the news of the death of Ed Stourton.
He was a very important figure for all of us on the daily news programmes on @BBCRadio4. One of those people you're really glad to have around. All substance, minimum ego, deeply knowledgeable, totally reliable.
And he was one of the nicest of colleagues as well. He'll be missed.
