The vast majority of people in the UK appreciate the significant contribution of immigrants. The Windrush generation is a perfect example of this, where they helped to rebuild post-war Britain. But equally, the small boats / illegal migration numbers over the past 5 years (200,000+) and the huge sums of taxpayer funded money to house them in hotels and free rental accommodation has caused huge concern across communities in the UK. Successive Prime Ministers have failed to grasp this issue. If Andy Burnham wants to gain full trust from the majority of voters, then he has to show strong leadership and find tangible solutions to resolve this issue.
