The difference isn’t “punching happened.” The difference is context. Teddy Roosevelt was personally sparring for exercise/training inside the White House, not staging a corporate combat-sports event with an octagon, cameras, invited crowd, entertainment production, and political branding.
Honestly, both sides have used the White House lawn for political theater. Biden doing Pride events there doesn’t automatically make a UFC event classy, and Trump doing UFC doesn’t erase how weird some of Biden’s events looked. The real issue is whether the White House should be treated like a national symbol or like a stage for culture-war performances.
@ModerateInSEA@joeroganhq Your such a clown; Teddy Roosevelt didn’t host official prize fights at the White House. TR did regularly boxing and sparing, it’s called personal training. Not a whole circus a the White House.
