I read the piece with interest. And I am surprised basic understanding of numerical minorities in a vibrant democracy was bypassed. Let’s look at examples from across the world. What do Jews do in America? You will find enough Jews in both parties. The idea is to not to vote enmasse but seek representation on all sides of the political aisle and treat democracy as a revolving door where any party can and should come to power. How is this prescription not given to Muslims of India? Why vote as a block simply with the sole goal of keeping BJP out of power? As long as Muslims vote en masse with a single goal of keeping BJP out of power, BJP like any other sensible political party will find a way to bypass them and make them irrelevant. It is politics fair and square.

@shekharkapur Masoom is my most memorable movie from my teenage days! My first movie on a VCR and cried my heart out watching it! Young Jugal Hansraj's face haunted me for days. "Tujhse naraaz nahi..." continues to be one of my all time favourite songs.
