Let the children play!
@HollyMarzetti I’ve tried something similar with a sheet of exercises for each group. The groups chose the exercise and checked it off as they were done. The problem was some groups would cheat and race through it ending up with a lot more equipment than other groups. SWORKIT kept it uniform.
Mashing up a few ideas I’ve seen from @pe2themax and @OPENPhysEd and others on Twitter. For every exercise completed a piece of equipment is earned for the group. At the end of class use the equipment to build your abstract Christmas Tree🎄
Day 1 our list was the Naughty and Nice list. Day 2 we made list of items people might want for Christmas. I think one group got confused that I am the “Big Guy” I keep referencing. Why yes little Johnny I can give you the “fitnessgram pacer test”.
Last week we collected ornaments for “The Big Guys” tree. This week we’re helping make “the list”. Working on rolling and spelling. Ball hits a hoop you get 3 letter tiles and if it stops in a hoop you get 5. At the end use the letters to spell as many names as possible.
Thank You @JWeiermiller and @mantaslico for letting me join your class for a few minutes today. Your room is so colorful and inviting. I loved seeing how engaged your students were in their Math Stations. #pawsandshare
@DebLeeson1 @tanis_ockwell Best Halloween story ever told. It was a lot of fun “Tech n’ Treating”. Thanks @tanis_ockwell for creating such a creative way to introduce technology. And just FYI, in case you’re looking ahead, I will not be doing any caroling for your Holidays Tech Talk. 😆😬
“Kick for the Money” this week. Working on S1.E21 Kicking. We have different levels and distances. Currency is noodle pieces and spot color determines how many. Hit the bonus target for maximum payout.
“Pin Soccer” today. Kick your ball, if you knock over the pin you move it one line closer to your opponent. If it makes it all the way to their goal line you win and they do 5 push-ups.
@toe431 white laundry baskets in front of tumbling mat that was stood up, large black tub and white baskets in front of large recycling bin. The mat and recycling bin were the backboards for the baskets. Depending on the grade level I would add or take away baskets and change distance.
Another version of “Make It Take It” today. Make it from a spot to take a popsicle stick. 3 different levels, 3 different targets. Working S1.E14 Overhand Throwing
