SHINE project funded by EU-Switch Asia conducted 3 days cooking training and e-commerce training on 11th-13th and 16th-17th, October,2023 in Trashigang and Pemagatshel respectively.
Fourteen local handicrafts artisans received a training on crafts skills and design thinking under the SHINE project funded by European Union to diversify and innovate their products. The training was conducted from 19-30 June this year in Thimphu and Bangkok, Thailand.

The SHINE project partners held internal meeting on 12/12/2022 to discuss the way forward on how to implement the remaining project activities more efficiently and effectively.
Mr. Georgios from Greece, who was in Bhutan for Result Oriented Monitoring(ROM) has successfully completed reviewing the EU switch Asia funded project “Sustainable Hospitality Industry Inclusive of Native Entrepreneurs” (SHINE Project).
Finally the most awaited moment has come!
As a part of initiative to promote tourism in eastern Bhutan, the SHINE project launched the “Unchartered Bhutan Tourism Attraction of Book(TAB) of eastern district.
Field trip to Eastern Bhutan. The project has handover the Tourism Attraction Book (TAB) to the governor/officials of respective districts. Moreover, Dr. Robert Wimmer, project leader from GrAT accompanied by project team visited the community and interacted them.
The half day cooking training was successfully completed for hotels in Thimphu on 5th November, 2022. The training was conducted by SHINE project in corporation with Royal Institute for Tourism and Hospitality (RITH) to enhance the capacity of chef to prepare Dishes.
The SHINE project, funded by EU Switch Asia organised dinner for EU delegates and other head of agencies on 19th September, 2022 at hotel Zhiwaling Ascent, Mothithang, Thimphu. The dinner was organised in line with Regional food program which is one of the ongoing activities.
Successfully completed second round of Regional food program. Thank you to the hotel and restaurant those who participated and your tremendous support and cooperation during the program. Most amazingly the trial dishes was exotic banana and papaya flower from Zhemgang and Dagana.

To promote indigenous food of eastern Bhutan to enrich the destination experience for international and local tourist and share the benefits of tourism values with rural communities through an improved food supply chain, the Regional Food Programme was kicked-off on 19th May,2022
SHINE project has been compiling and conducting research on the potential tourism attractions of five Dzongkhags of eastern Bhutan, Dagana of Western Bhutan, and Zhemgang of central Bhutan. The attractions were categorized into crops & food, crafts & culture, nature & wildlife.
