East District Police organised a Drug Awareness & Cyber Safety Programme at Maharaja Agrasen College, New Ashok Nagar, for students and faculty members.

Sh. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Spl. CP/L&O Zone-I, delivered an informative lecture on cyber safety and drug abuse, sensitising students about emerging cyber threats, safe digital practices and the harmful impact of drugs on health, education and future.

The session covered common cyber frauds including Digital Arrest, online investment scams, fake KYC, OTP fraud, phishing and impersonation, along with the importance of staying away from drugs and making responsible choices. Awareness videos on cyber safety and drug abuse were also screened during the programme.

A police officer from PS Laxmi Nagar conducted a Child Safety Awareness Lecture at Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Lalita Park, under the jurisdiction of PS Laxmi Nagar.

Students participated in an interactive session covering personal safety, Good Touch & Bad Touch, the POCSO Act, Human Trafficking, Cyber Safety, Bullying and the harmful effects of drugs.

The session encouraged young girls to understand their personal boundaries, recognise situations that may feel unsafe and make informed choices. They were also encouraged to speak openly about any concern and seek help from parents, teachers, police or other trusted adults.

Strengthening Security Through Checking

Keeping a close watch on public safety and security, East District Police carried out picket and vehicle checking at various locations across the district.

The snatched gold chain and scooty used in the crime were recovered.

East District Police successfully solved the sensational murder case of a lady Assistant Professor within a short span of time.

A joint team of Special Staff, ASB Cell, Anti-Narcotics Squad and PS New Ashok Nagar, East District apprehended two accused and a CCL from Burdwan, West Bengal.

The case was worked out through meticulous CCTV analysis, technical surveillance and sustained investigation.

Key recoveries include the deceased's mobile phone, weapon of offence, clothes used during the crime and travel documents.
