@HeathSomers @SHPS_Year2 Year 2 were really excited when we recreated the Great Fire of London. We watched how the wind carried the flames from house to house, and it only stopped spreading when there was a break between the houses.

Year 2 have had a great day at the Grays Fire Station museum! Thanks to all the staff there, the children had an excellent day!

@SHPS_Year2 Year 2 enjoyed a visit to All Saints Church where they learnt about why churches are special to Christians. They had many questions for Father Matt and listened enthusiastically to the answers.

@SHPS_Year2 We’ve had great fun playing in the snow this afternoon and investigating which snowballs travel the furthest- small ones or large ones.

@SHPS_Year2 Year 2 enjoyed their workshop with the illustrator Nick Sharratt. The children created their own superheroes.

@SHPS_Year2 Year 2 enjoyed their Brazil enrichment day. We made carnival masks, tasted a range of chocolates and fruit juices, learned some Portuguese phrases and the basic samba steps. We then ended the day by playing a Brazilian game and had an in class carnival’

@SHPS_Year2 Year 2 have had great fun investigating which material was the stretchiest. We discovered it was the elastic band and then made sling shots using them to test how far they could propel items.
