SHRED

Simplest way to earn 10-15% APY on your stablecoins in a few clicks.

A Note From the SHRED Team

After a great deal of consideration, we have made the difficult decision to wind down SHRED. When we set out, we made a promise to you: stablecoin yield that was real, transparent, and sustainable.

Then the market changed.

Funding rates compressed and stayed that way longer than we could have forecast. The strategy behind our target yield could no longer generate it without taking on more risk than we were willing to pass on to depositors. We researched alternative strategies, but each introduced risks and structural exposures that did not meet the standard we had set for ourselves or our community.

Ultimately, the choice was clear.

We chose not to launch a product that could no longer deliver what it was designed to deliver. We would rather not launch than ship something that under delivers or puts user capital at risk to defend a headline number.

Because SHRED never officially launched, no community funds were deposited, so no action is required.

To everyone who joined our community, shared our research, and pushed our thinking forward: thank you. Your trust shaped how we built and how we are closing.

SHRED is ending, but our team is not leaving the industry. We have navigated multiple cycles before, and the standards that guided this decision will carry into what we work on next.

Thank you for believing in us and supporting our vision of real, stable yield for everyone.

This industry is going to 50 trillion and then 100 trillion, despite being 3 trillion today.

The sheer scale of the traditional asset markets is unfathomable to most digital asset investors.

Most don't have the patience or foresight to even see it.

Good thing that you do 🫡

The next phase of the crypto industry is going to blow everyones initial expectations out of the water.

It just doesn't feel like it right now...

But the truth is, it never does until it happens.

[SHRED @SHREDfi]

We are currently building out the infrastructure to support additional strategies to generate yield that are performing well in this environment.

This includes strategies like the funding rate arbitrage on RWAs (i.e. tokenized gold) and structured credit yield capture.

Our belief is that a blended mix of these strategies should get our depositors to a target yield of 10-15% on their stables.

Everyone thinks crypto is dying because they’re basing their judgement on the price charts.

If you look at the fundamentals of some of the best DeFi projects, which are drivers of future price, things look a lot different.

Dan Tapiero says 5 years from now 99% of stablecoins will not be dollar-based

"I come from the markets world, trading currencies. That's what I did in my old life. I can pretty much guarantee you that 5 years from now 99% of stablecoins will not be dollar-based"

"You're going to have yen, Indonesian rupiah, euro. All the currencies around the world will have their digital equivalent. We haven't even started that"

"In the last 5 years we've gone from zero stablecoin trading volume to 33 trillion last year"

In a bull market, sitting in stables earning yield is a massive opportunity cost relative to price appreciation.

In a bear market, sitting in stables earning yield is not only growing purchasing power, but you'll get a better entry, which amplifies future price appreciation.

SpaceX on it's IPO will be worth ~ as much as the entire crypto market ex stablecoins.

Crypto is incredibly small.

The big picture isn't asset X vs asset Y.

Rather, it's how does an asset, blockchain, or project build useful things and drive adoption that matters in the world.

Bitwise is rooting for anyone and everyone working hard to do just that.

[SHRED @SHREDfi]

There's no "wash trading" rule in crypto.

Meaning you could sell your crypto and buy it back instantly to realize a "capital loss" for tax purposes.

This is because crypto is treated as "property" under tax law.

Something to think about strategically while prices are down bad.

Vibe right now —

Crypto twitter: “after 15 years, this might be the year it’s over for [new recent reason]”

Financial advisor I’m with at happy hour in Florida: “saw price is down, it’s time to buy right? It’s amazing to finally have access.”

Somehow the roles have flipped upside down in 2026.
