A visit to Tyne Cot cemetery, the largest Commonwealth cemetery on the Western Front and where many of those killed at the Battle of Passchendaele are buried.

First stop around Ypres today is Essex Farm. Site of an advanced dressing station where John McCrae wrote ‘In Flanders Field’ which was read aloud by Brian L 🌹

The Battlefields Visit has arrived in Belgium with a visit to Nellie Spindler’s grave, 1 of only 2 British females killed in the First World War 🌹

This morning we have walked around Ploegstreet Wood and the site of the 1914 Christmas Truce. We’re now on our way to the Somme.
