Understanding how to have conversations about self-harm is really important in reducing the stigma that can be a huge barrier to people opening up and getting support with it. 🧵 1/8 #SelfHarmAwarenessDay
🧵Alys shares her story ahead of #SelfHarmAwarenessDay
“I saw online that you don’t have to feel suicidal to call Samaritans, they’re there for anyone who's struggling; feeling overwhelmed, or experiencing self-harm for example. That’s what I identified with, and why I called.
"Sitting in sadness, crying in our rage" Thinking of Sarah & all victims of #GenderBasedViolence 😢 & hoping, hoping, hoping for positive cultural & procedural change going forward🙏
A day to sit in sadness for the tragic death of Sarah Everard and all the women killed, as their names are called out today by @jessphillips We should feel fury for all these preventable deaths and cry in our rage for change to stop the killing of our sisters, mothers and friends
It's hard to know what & how to post today, except to remind @UofGlasgow colleagues & students of sources of support for those who've experienced #GenderBasedViolence, & where you can take concerns about conduct, or your own or another's safety.

Women don't report, police don't investigate...
This HAS to change.
Shocking findings from Angiolini Inquiry which calls for "step change" in how the police approach indecent exposure.
My thoughts are with Sarah Everard’s family & friends.
🚨 New PGR blog alert: This time, Daniel Dicks (He/Him) shares about the experiences first-year Ph.D. students can encounter and some useful advices from his very own experiences...
