@rosesandriches —portrait hole. "I guess so. I have to start the adventure back up to the seventh floor," he said, nodding towards the stairs. He smiled at her. “Goodnight, Rose.”
@rosesandriches Scorpius pulled his eyebrows together ever so slightly. Weren't they friends? He had already gone through all the emotional crap of having a crush on Rose when they were kids– surely he was over thinking this. And it was fine.
He swallowed and stepped away from her—
@rosesandriches Scorpius's cheeks burned. He wasn't used to hearing anything serious from Rose’s mouth. That must have been the reason, embarassment.
He cleared his throat. “Wow. You do have a heart," he said and shook his head, “Seriously, though, that's nice of you to say. I'm glad we—
@rosesandriches “Yeah,” said Scorpius, a content grin coming to his face as he nodded. He honestly hadn’t had so much fun at a party since the first time he decided to go to one. And this time he actually drank.
“I’ll make sure you to still invite you to the next one,” he said and gently—
@rosesandriches He followed her, quietly, his hands still tucked firmly in his pockets. They had to be silent and quick– it was way past lights out and he wasn't about to get caught now. Imagine what Longbottom would do to him if he got caught out /and/ drunk underage.
“Did you have fun?" he—
@rosesandriches --afraid that he would never fit in being in Gryffindor. His parents were Slytherins, his family had been for generations, he was raised thinking he'd be a Slytherin. It was nice that Rose had had the same issue, reversed.
“Do you need me to walk you back?”
@rosesandriches Scorpius remained right beside her, just in case she wobbled. He didn't know where Al got to, but he would have found them by now if he was still here. He probably fell asleep somewhere.
“Sorry your House is full of stuffy weirdos," he teased back. When he was 11, he had been—
@rosesandriches —have fun, the three of us. Even if you continue to align yourself with the enemy." He joked, as if their difference in Houses had ever kept anyone apart before.
@rosesandriches Scorpius nodded slowly. “Right," he said. He cleared his throat and started to walk away from the dorms, his hands in his pockets, since for some reason he now had no idea what to do with them.
“I'm glad you came," he said, lifting his head to smile at her a little, “We always—
@rosesandriches -- to Rose. "Yeah. Yeah, it was great. Sorry I sort of abandoned you, but Al told me to go for it. You know, talk to Caroline.”
He tilted his head as he noticed the reddish purple mark on her neck. “What did you get up to?”
@rosesandriches Scorpius turned his head, and had to look slightly down to see Rose. Huh, Caroline was just about as tall as he was.
“Goodnight," he said, then realized that she had asked a question. "Oh, wait– yes. Ha. It was very good." He looked up towards the girls' dorms before turning—
@rosesandriches —her head. “Cute and well connected!”
Not long after that, she wanted to go bed. Being Gryffindors, he walked her right to the stairs to the girls' dormitories. Before she went up, she touched him on the cheek and said goodnight.
It made him dizzy. Maybe it was the alcohol.
@rosesandriches —Scorpius sat on the floor behind the sofa, her head on his shoulder as she regaled him of her grand plans to be a journalist one day.
"I know an editor, you know," he said, “Ginny Potter. When the time comes, maybe I could be your secret connection.”
She gasped and lifted—
@rosesandriches —it had to be called liquid courage for a reason. Caroline Abbott was very pretty.
Placing his empty glass on a nearby table, Scorpius blew out a breathe. “Wish me luck," he said. He quickly brushed off his jersey, brushed his hair off his forehead, and walked through the—
