When a situation requires resources beyond the capacity of an individual member / local emergency responders, SDMAP members work together through the Strathcona District Mutual Assistance Emergency Response Assistance Agreement to help effectively manage the situation.

The Strathcona District Mutual Assistance Program (SDMAP) plans for and tests emergency response readiness in the East Edmonton, Strathcona region to ensure the safety of our community.
SDMAP partners conduct routine training exercises on member sites to build response capability, improve planning, and increase our capacity to respond to an event.
We support members with emergency preparedness by maintaining a current inventory of available equipment and trained staff, conducting routine hazard assessments and completing live training exercises.
SDMAP is a partnership of more than 30 industrial and community agencies in Strathcona County and East Edmonton and uses the combined expertise and equipment of all our members to plan for emergency response.
