Sebaashray may have officially concluded, but its legacy endures like an eternal flame, illuminating the lives of lakhs of families across Diamond Harbour with renewed hope. Though the camps have drawn to a close, their echoes live on in every heartbeat restored and every ailment healed, propelling our sacred mission of equitable healthcare into a bolder future, where no life is left in the shadows of neglect.

I am especially inspired by the journey of Rustam Sheikh, who attended one of our health camps and was swiftly diagnosed as needing retinal surgery. Thanks to the expertise at Renuka Eye Institute, the operation was successfully completed, allowing him to see the world with renewed clarity and confidence. Alongside him, 15 other patients underwent free cataract surgeries, reclaiming not just their sight, but their dignity and independence.

With continued post-operative care, they will soon regain full vision, and with it, the assurance that compassionate public service can truly transform lives. Together, we will continue building a healthier, more humane future for every citizen.

I wholeheartedly welcome GoWB’s Interim State Budget for FY 2026–27, a people-first Budget that reflects compassion, foresight and commitment to inclusive growth.

The annual support of ₹4,000 for landless agricultural farmers is a visionary move that addresses vulnerability at its roots. The complete waiver of irrigation charges under Government Tubewells and RLI schemes will significantly reduce cultivation costs for small and marginal farmers, strengthening the backbone of our rural economy. From the Singur movement of 2006–08 to today’s Budget, @AITCofficial has stood with farmers through action.

The launch of Banglar YUBASATHI is another landmark step, extending monthly assistance of ₹1,500 for up to five years to educated youth aged 21–40, empowering them to pursue meaningful opportunities. Equally commendable is the ₹1,000 monthly enhancement for ASHA and ICDS workers, para-teachers, Shiksha Bandhu Sahayaks, Samprasarak and Mukhya Samprasarak, special educators and management staff, civic volunteers, village police and green police workers, a fitting recognition of those who serve society at the frontlines every day.

And most importantly, strengthening our commitment to empowering every woman, monthly financial assistance under Lakshmir Bhandar has been increased by ₹500, with women from the General category now set to receive ₹1,500 and SC/ST women ₹1,700 every month. This Budget restores hope, inspires confidence and charts a bold course towards Swanirbhor Bangla. My congratulations to our Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkaar for presenting a Budget that truly belongs to the people.

There are some feelings you don’t need words for. When you see relief on a mother’s face, when you see parents finally breathe easy because their children are well again, you understand everything in that moment.

In Nandigram, a family’s young daughter, who has been battling thalassemia, fell seriously ill. She was brought to the Sebaashray camp, referred for treatment, and taken to NRS Hospital, where she received the care she needed through a system built to respond quickly and responsibly. Today, she is healthy again. Seeing her smile, and seeing the calm return to her parents’ faces, was deeply moving.

For families, illness is not just about medicine. It is about fear, waiting, uncertainty, and the worry that no parent ever wants to carry. Sebaashray exists to ensure that in those moments, help is available without hesitation, without cost, and without dignity being compromised.

My only prayer is that this young girl’s life be filled with health, happiness, and strength, and that every family who needs support finds it when they need it most.

Today, at Banga Bhawan in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, I met victims of the deeply flawed SIR process, families who have lost loved ones and citizens who, despite being alive, have been falsely marked “dead” and erased from the electoral rolls. Their testimonies were heartbreaking. In a democracy, to inflict such suffering on the people, is not just tragic, it is unconscionable.

Women, senior citizens, migrant workers, daily wage earners, patients, entire lives have been thrown into chaos by this reckless and inhumane exercise. What is even more alarming is that, without any statutory authority and in violation of the Representation of the People Act, an unprecedented number of micro-observers have been deployed in Bengal to usurp the powers of EROs and AROs. Rules are being rewritten mid-process, technologies misused, and procedures weaponised, all to selectively target Bengal and its people.

The BJP has failed to win the trust of the people. It has failed politically. And so it has chosen to hijack a constitutional institution to do what it cannot achieve democratically. But their conspiracies will only strengthen our resolve. We will fight this assault on democracy with every constitutional means at our disposal. We will fight to protect every citizen’s right to vote, to defend Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, and to uphold the sanctity of free and fair elections.

If SIR were even remotely well-intentioned, it could have been carried out in the months following the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. But the Election Commission has abdicated its constitutional duty and surrendered itself to BJP. And the cost of this servitude has already been paid in blood, grief, fear, and the theft of democratic rights. More than 150 lives have been lost. Living citizens have been branded “dead” and erased from electoral rolls. Today, at Banga Bhawan in Chanakyapuri, alongside Smt. Mamata Banerjee, I met families shattered by this reckless process.

What exposes the conspiracy even further is the brazen double standard. The draconian rules being imposed in Bengal are not applied in 11 other states. States with higher deletion rates, many ruled by the BJP, saw no deployment of micro-observers. Bengal alone has been inundated with 8,100 micro-observers, an unprecedented number unmatched anywhere in India. Worse, the Election Commission is now openly violating its own framework by empowering these micro-observers, who have no statutory authority, with backend logins that enable deletions at will.

When confronted with these facts, the Chief Election Commissioner’s response has been sheer arrogance. BJP and the Election Commission may believe they can mislead 140 crore Indians, but they are gravely mistaken. Bengal is not a state that bows to intimidation. We are built differently. We will resist, we will expose, and we will fight this assault on democracy until justice is served.

Acting at @BJP4India’s behest, @ECISVEEP has turned SIR into a weapon of mass disenfranchisement, designed to wipe crores of genuine voters in Bengal off the rolls. And today, that conspiracy met its most powerful rebuke from Smt. @MamataOfficial and Shri @abhishekaitc.

By refusing to legitimise Vanish Kumar’s arrogance and boycotting the meeting, Didi made it clear that Bengal will never bow before institutional bullying, political manipulation, or constitutional vandalism.

Bengal is not soft ground for authoritarian experiments. It is unbreachable territory. Here, no cabal will succeed in stealing the franchise of ordinary citizens, no matter how many offices they occupy or how much power they abuse.

In Nandigram, Sebaashray has become a powerful affirmation of what compassionate governance looks like in action.

Through our model camps across two blocks, 22 citizens who had been living in darkness due to cataracts were referred for surgery at Kalyani Eye Hospital in Nimtouri and have now regained their sight. Watching them return home with renewed confidence and independence is a reminder that public service, at its best, is measured in restored lives.

Health must never be a privilege, and dignity must never be conditional. Sebaashray stands for both. This is what a healthy society looks like, where care reaches people before suffering becomes fate. With your trust and blessings, Sebaashray will continue to expand this mission of compassion, equity, and accessible healthcare for all.

Election Commission of India is celebrating National Voters' Day today, and what a tragic farce that is! The Commission -- working as His Master's Voice-- is busy now in snatching away people's voting rights, and they have the temerity to celebrate Voters' Day! I am deeply distressed and disturbed by their conduct today.

In stead of complying with the Hon'ble Supreme Court's verdict and working as per rules and norms to provide and protect the democratic voting rights of people, ECI is finding newer and newer pretexts in the name of logical discrepancy to harass the people and try to deny them and take away from them their electoral rights! On behalf of BJP, their Master, they are busy in bulldozing the Opposition and destroying the foundation of Indian democracy, and yet they have the guts to celebrate Voters' Day!!

ECI, you are torturing people today in an unprecedented manner.More than 130 persons have died because of your tortures. Can you summon-- the way you are doing-- persons above 85, 90, 95 years of age, and even physically challenged persons to physically appear before you to prove their credentials? The stress caused by this kind of illegal pressure is leading to series of suicides and deaths, and yet you are continuing to do this at the behest of your political masters. You have made it NRC trial for citizens, including particularly those belonging to minorities, scheduled castes and tribes.

Elections are festivals of democracy. But your partisan conduct and unilateral illegalities, dispatch of micro- observers to compound the harassment, your push to people to jaws of death have been destroying our democracy. Today, you have no right to celebrate the Voters' Day!

নির্বাচন কমিশনকে বলি: আপনারা মানুষকে অভূতপূর্ব অত্যাচারের মুখোমুখি দাঁড় করিয়েছেন, আপনাদের অত্যাচারের ফলেই এখনও পর্যন্ত ১৩০ জনের বেশি মানুষ মারা গিয়েছেন। আপনারা যেভাবে ৮৫, ৯০ , ৯৫ বছরের মানুষকে ডেকে পাঠাচ্ছেন এবং শারীরিকভাবে প্রতিবন্ধী মানুষকেও আপনাদের সামনে হাজির হতে বাধ্য করছেন তা করার অধিকার কি আপনাদের আছে? এই বেআইনি চাপ ও নিগ্রহের ফলেই আত্মহত্যা ও মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা বাড়ছে এবং আপনারা এটা করছেন আপনাদের রাজনৈতিক প্রভুর নির্দেশে ও স্বার্থে।

এটাকে আপনারা নাগরিকদের জন্য NRC প্রক্রিয়া বানিয়ে তুলেছেন এবং সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায় ও তপশিলি জাতি ও জনজাতির মানুষের জন্য এটা বিশেষ পীড়ার কারণ হয়েছে।

নির্বাচন হলো গণতন্ত্রের উৎসব। কিন্তু আপনাদের পক্ষপাত- দুষ্ট আচরণ এবং একতরফা বেআইনি কান্ডকারখানা, মাইক্রো অবজারভার প্রভৃতিদের দলে দলে পাঠিয়ে সেই নিগ্রহ বৃদ্ধি এবং মানুষকে দলে দলে মৃত্যুর মুখে ঠেলে দেওয়া পরিণতিতে আমাদের গণতন্ত্রকে ধ্বংস করছে। ভোটার দিবস পালনের কোনও অধিকার আপনাদের আজ নেই।

Not words carved in stone, but promises written in blood and breath. Promises born in sacrifice, tempered in struggle, and carried across generations as the living soul of our Republic. These are the values our freedom fighters died for, and the values we are sworn to protect not only in speech, but in action.

On this 77th Republic Day, the air is heavy with unease. The Constitution is chipped away, not in one blow, but in many quiet strikes. Institutions meant to guard democracy now cast long shadows of fear. Communities are pushed to the margins, and the simplest freedoms of language, food, faith, love, and belief are watched, weighed, and questioned.

Yet Republic Day is not only remembrance. It is reckoning. It is the pause before resolve. It calls us to see clearly, to speak honestly, to stand firmly against injustice, and to rebuild what is being hollowed out.

The Republic survives not because power spares it, but because people choose it every day. And we shall continue to choose it, to defend it, and to keep its promise alive.

I consider it a profound privilege that the people of Diamond Harbour have entrusted Sebaashray with something as precious as their health. The first edition set new benchmarks in last-mile healthcare delivery, and Sebaashray 2 has carried that legacy forward with remarkable success. As we conclude the normal camps, I am filled with deep gratitude and fulfilment, having witnessed the overwhelming warmth, trust, and participation of our people.

I salute every doctor, nurse, pharmacist, diagnostician, and volunteer whose dedication made this initiative possible. From 24th to 28th January, Mega Camps will be held simultaneously across all seven Assembly Constituencies of Diamond Harbour to further expand access and ensure continuity of care. I remain, always, a humble servant of the people who have blessed me with their trust and affection, and in every endeavour, their welfare will remain my foremost priority.
