A fly fell into my tea ☕
According to the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ ; If a fly falls into your drink or food, dip it fully then remove it.
The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘If a fly falls into the vessel of one of you, let him dip it in, for in one of its wings there is disease and in the other there is a cure.’ (Bukhari)
I used to laugh at people who said, “Be careful who you help. Until it happened to me. In 2022, I met a young man at a motor park. He looked exhausted, hungry and confused. He told me he had just arrived in the city with hopes of getting a better job, but his bag containing all his money had been stolen.
I felt sorry for him. I bought him food, paid for a small room where he could sleep for two nights, and even gave him some money to get back on his feet, he cried, he hugged me, he kept saying, “I will never forget this kindness.
Over the next few months, we became close friends, I introduced him to people I trusted, I even helped him secure a decent job through one of my relatives, life finally smiled at him.
One afternoon, my manager called me into his office, someone had emptied money from the company account using my login details, I was shocked. I had never shared my password with anyone.
The investigation started immediately, within two days, I was suspended, people I called friends stopped answering my calls.
Even some family members believed I had stolen the money.
For weeks, I couldn’t sleep.
Then one evening, I remembered something.
A few months earlier, the same friend I had rescued had borrowed my laptop to “apply for jobs.”
He used it for almost three hours while I stepped out to buy food.
At the time, I didn’t think anything of it.
I immediately told the investigators.
They checked the system logs again.
It turned out someone had copied my login credentials from that laptop.
The IP address led straight to the apartment I had helped him rent.
Police officers searched the apartment.
He was gone.
But they recovered documents, fake IDs and enough evidence to prove he had been running similar scams in different cities using people who trusted him.
A week later, he was arrested while trying to leave the country.
He confessed.
He admitted that from the very first day we met, he had deliberately targeted me because I looked “too kind to say no.”
The charges against me were dropped.
I got my job back.
But the damage had already been done.
Some people still believed I was guilty.
That’s when I learned something painful:
Being kind is a beautiful thing.
But kindness without wisdom can become an invitation for the wrong people.
Since that day, I still help people whenever I can.
The difference is that now I help with my heart… and my eyes open.

“A Lesson I Will Never Forget ❤️
Last Thursday, around 4:00 p.m., we were called to the hospital to donate blood for my younger sister, who was about to undergo a C-section.
When we got there, they tested our blood, but unfortunately, none of us had the matching blood group. I decided to rush back to the market so we could find other relatives or friends to come and get tested. Time was running out.
On my way, around Danjar Yankura by France Road, a traffic officer stopped me for allegedly making a wrong turn (changing direction).
I was already stressed and worried. I explained to him that I wasn’t trying to be difficult, I was only in a hurry because my sister urgently needed blood for surgery. Instead of listening, he asked me to “settle” him. I only had ₦150 in my pocket, and I told him that was all I had and I couldn’t give it away because of the emergency. He then said I should wait for his superior officer (OC).
When the OC arrived, I explained everything that had happened. He asked me a simple question:
“What blood group is needed?”
I replied, “O positive.”
He looked at me and said,
“That’s my blood group too. Let’s go to the hospital.”
I was speechless.
He followed me to the hospital, donated his own blood, and that blood was used for my sister’s operation.
By the grace of God, the C-section was successful. Today, both the mother and the baby are safe and healthy.
That moment changed the way I see people.
If someone had told me before that a traffic officer would personally donate blood to save a stranger’s life, I might not have believed it, especially with all the negative stories we often hear.
This experience reminded me that everywhere you go, you will find both good people and bad people.”
Moral lessons; We should never judge everyone by the actions of a few. There are still kind-hearted people who are willing to help without expecting anything in return.
May Almighty Allah reward that officer abundantly, protect him, bless his family, grant him success in his work, and continue to use him as a source of goodness for others.
Humanity still exists. Hope still exists. And kindness can come from the most unexpected places. ❤️
