Thank you to everyone who had donated worn or unwanted shoes during our RRS Days! 👞👟🩴🥾As you can see, we managed to gather a huge amount of shoes for Clarks’ initiative - ‘ShoeShare’! All of the shoes will be reused or recycled, and will not end up in landfill! ♻️🌍
Since food is one of the leading drivers of climate change, P1 and P2 pupils were learning about the importance of eating locally grown produce. They enjoyed planting their own carrots! 🥕
We have signed up to participate in UNICEF UK’s annual OutRight Campaign – which focuses on empowering young people to learn how climate change threatens children’s rights. P1 and P2 pupils created a lovely craft which highlights different ways to take part in climate action! 🌍
During our Rights Respecting School Days Primary 6 were developing their knowledge of children’s rights by sorting articles into 3 columns – basic need, safe from harm and expressing themselves.
We have been learning about the impacts of climate change through the OutRight Campaign. P1 and P2 pupils took part in this play-based activity which supported their understanding of the effects that global warming has on Earth’s oceans and ice, as well as animals and people. 🌍
During our RRS Days, Primary 2s learned about the three R’s – Reuse, Reduce, Recycle! The pupils discussed simple everyday choices that can help fight climate change and created fantastic posters to spread awareness! ♻️💧💡
One of our aims for this year’s RRS Days was to inspire children to campaign for both local and global matters. Primary 3 and Primary 4 pupils have developed their understanding of different food related issues and created lovely prayers for food poverty around the world. 🌍
On the 12th and 13th of February, we are getting involved in our annual Rights Respecting School Days. Children are invited to bring unwanted shoes to school, to participate in Clarks' ‘Shoe Share’ take-back scheme which ensures that shoes are diverted away from landfill. 👞👟
This week we marked International Peace Day and prayed for Peace around the world. Our primary @SJA_RRS committee made a fabulous podcast about what peace means to them. Have a listen! 🕊 JP https://t.co/Z5akRGcWEm
As part of Peace One Day P3 created posters to welcome refugees to our country. We read a story with the powerful message: "You will be called refugee but remember refugee is NOT your name". #article7#globalgoal16#mynameisnotrefugee LG
Thanks to everyone who has donated to our appeal for @PKAVScharity for Afghan refugees! We are overwhelmed with the support! This is the first load from the primary being dropped off today! Any further donations will be dropped off tomorrow afternoon! JP
