We will be holding our annual Book Fair from next Monday 29th September to Friday 3rd October during lunchtimes and at the KS3 Information Evening. It is a great way to purchase discounted books, whilst allowing us to acquire free books for use in lessons and lunchtime clubs.

We had a wonderful time at @hayfestival today, taking part in an interactive creative writing workshop with Caroline O'Donnaghue. We learned all about 'world building' and collaboratively created a new world and narrative. An outstanding learning opportunity. @StJohnsAberdare

It has been a pleasure to take part in the @ACMorgannwg Christmas Card Appeal this year. As a school community we have gathered approximately 500 cards which have been filled with festive messages by staff and pupils for isolated elderly people in our community. @StJohnsAberdare

Pupils and staff at St John's have shown their support for Children In Need, with a variety of events that have raised a staggering £3,406 🙌🏻 @BBCCiN

Diolch yn fawr! Thank you so much to everyone who supported our @Scholastic Book Fair last week. On Friday, our Literacy Ambassadors enjoyed choosing this bundle of free books to recommend to other students. These will be available to all pupils in lessons and our lunchtime clubs

It is the final day of our Book Fair today. It has been a wonderful week. Our students have been so excited to choose and chat about the books they love. It is our final session today. Purchases can be made online throughout the school day. Thank you for every purchase.

This will be 'cashless', so books can be purchased by using the chip and pin machine,  paying online or by buying a digital gift voucher.

We would encourage pupils to browse at the Book Fair from next Monday onwards, where they can create a 'wish list' to be discussed at home.
