We are hosting a TeachMeet for GCSE and A-Level teachers of OCR Science. Please sign up below if you’d like fo discuss the exams, future developments and just to generally network. #scienceeducation#STEMeducation#OCR#OCRScience
Thank you so much to the team at @BayfordburyObs for giving us a fantastic visit this evening. A bit cloudy but excellent engagement from the students nonetheless!
A final astronomy club observation evening for the year, and what a treat it was. A glorious moonrise and a spectacular view of Jupiter. Below are images of both and time-lapses of their path through the sky @SJLScience

Wonderful to welcome back @CrabtreeJnr into science today to learn about atoms and build molecules of their own, using our molymod kits. They also investigated the properties of sound waves.
@SJLScience
Class two @CrabtreeJnr looking at habitats, making predictions on the ideal habitat for woodlice. Will it be dry and bright, or dark and damp?
Thank you to Crabtree pupils for being enthusiastic in your learning and impeccably behaved.
@SJLScience
A pleasure to welcome @CrabtreeJnr to our science faculty this afternoon, investigating sound with sound waves and measuring decibels. How loud can Year 4 make themselves?
@SJLScience
Year 13 have been immobilising enzymes today. Sucrose solution run through immobilised yeast and then sampled every 3mins. Benedict’s reagent rainbow! This sample from Labiba & Georgia was perfect. #sjlpride
Thank you to @BayfordburyObs for putting on an excellent evening for SJL’s astronomy club. The students were mesmerised by the planetarium, intrigued by the talk on star formation and loved getting to see and use the telescopes. 🪐🔭
