The DUNNING-KRUGER EFFECT essentially means it’s important to know that you don’t know, what you don’t know.
How does this apply to sport?
COACHES- don’t obsess over X and Os. You can win WITH MANY DIFFERENT PHILOSOPHIES.
You will get out coached, frequently; learn and move on. Do obsess over building culture and relationships. This is priority #1. With trust, players will buy into your tactical systems much much quicker. Learning the language of coaching supercedes memorizing plays.
PLAYERS- process based success will always win, not results based success. Your favorite athlete will have an incredible quote on learning to love the WORK more than the W/L or stats.
1% better daily, despite the results is how elite athletes think. Each level has a different speed, size and talent gap that will quickly expose your lack of competence, this is NORMAL. Growth isn’t linear.
‘Hard work beats talent, when talents doesn’t work hard’.
The end result is CONFIDENCE AND COMPETENCE.
And for #14 @OWUSport WBB, it was perfection in @NCAC play for the first time ever. Coach Stacy Ungashick Lobdell joins us to chat about an undefeated conference season, the tournament ahead, and hopes for March. #d3hoops
