I welcome the extraordinary work done by those on the HMS Prince of Wales who got the ship ready to leave in only eight days.
The SNP should be congratulating them rather than complaining.
The aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales is due to sail from Portsmouth to take the place of HMS Queen Elizabeth to join the NATO Exercise Steadfast Defender. As ever, sailing will be subject to suitable tide and weather conditions.
@RoyalNavy@pkcarnie A fantastic effort by @RoyalNavy@BAES_Maritime and the wider enterprise to get PWLS from low readiness to sailing on a major NATO exercise in a week. BZ all 👍 🇬🇧
Today, we say farewell to our Commanding Officer, Captain Hewitt OBE RN, who has overseen a successful 2023.
And a very warm welcome to Captain Will Blackett Royal Navy who has assumed Command of @HMSPWLS.
History in the making... A pilotless aircraft has landed - and taken off again from - a Royal Navy aircraft carrier for the first time at sea. The drone from W Autonomous Systems flew from Predannack near @RNASCuldrose to @HMSPWLS and back again.
