In an interview Wednesday, Knodl said he had been talking about potentially impeaching Protasiewicz as a county judge, not as a justice.
He said he saw no reason to do that now that she will be leaving the Milwaukee court for the high court.
Some news: Today is my last day @journalsentinel. I truly appreciated the opportunity, the friendships and the people I will continue to admire. I even got Kringle (go Racine!)
I'll be returning to @WPR where I'll be covering statewide K-12 education. So, still some politics ;)
Republican Dan Knodl declared victory in the special election for the 8th Senate District. A GOP win would give the party a Senate supermajority. https://t.co/awGfdqJT2B
A wild scene at the Janet Protasiewicz victory party, where the three liberal justices she'll soon join on the Wisconsin Supreme Court took the stage during her speech.
"Tonight we celebrate this historic victory that has obviously ignited hope in so many of us."
Dan Kelly says his politics don't matter in Wisconsin's Supreme Court race. Supporters say Republican priorities hang in the balance. https://t.co/fwnynOZmDz
Understaffing and high turnover in DAs offices has gone from "serious" to "dire," one Wisconsin prosecutor with more than 30 years experience told @WPR https://t.co/X1rW8Codvm
Pres. Joe Biden spoke this afternoon in DeForest, Wisconsin the day after his State of the Union address. He was greeted by @GovEvers and other Wisconsin elected officials.

.@SpeakerVos and @SenatorDevin call Evers' proposal a political stunt:
"Governor Evers would rather push his agenda to have abortion available until birth than talk about his failure to address rising crime and runaway inflation caused by his liberal DC allies."
.@GovEvers is calling another special session of the Legislature to "create a pathway" to repeal the state's abortion ban.
He's proposing a constitutional amendment to repeal the ban. GOP lawmakers ignored an earlier call from Evers for a special session to repeal the ban.
