@Well_Styx@shebringsjoy It also pointed out that there are people there are people with accounts that cross the line into sinful behavior and those people should stop. It isn’t about setting up a big brother state. It’s about accepting accountability.
@Well_Styx@shebringsjoy If this is your best example of what you are worried about with this resolution, I do not think you have anything to worry about. The resolution did not say having an anon acct is sinful it said that all of us should mindfully consider our actions on social media.
@Well_Styx@shebringsjoy It also directs the CTCR to study this and prepare a document to provide exactly the insight and guidance to be prepared and distributed.
@Well_Styx@shebringsjoy If more context is required the overtures the committee worked from are also all publicly available. So far all I see is outrage over two lines. I feel like the committee did a good job.
@shebringsjoy I don’t believe you fall into this category however I assume you have probably gotten a message or two from people who do. I know I have…………
@shebringsjoy I was at the convention & one thing I can say is I have seen A LOT of people spin resolutions to say things they clearly dont say. This resolution is aimed at those going about attacking others under the cover of a false name thus avoiding any repercussion for their behavior.
At the moment, mansion-sized Asteroid 2024-YR4 has a one-in-fifty chance of hitting Earth in the next eight years.
Now might be a bad time to reduce spending on Science. Just sayin’.
@MattWhitmanTMBH@MetzUAC1530@WmWeedon You do excellent work. I know many people who have found your content as helpful as I have. Thank you for all that you do.
@ohboyscoobs@LutheranSage Those do not say that but I appreciate your reasoned response. Not your “silly” response & other ruder ones I have read. Do this more, the other less. If I could speak with you I would continue this but here it’s pointless. I love you brother and I’m sorry we are not in concord.
@ohboyscoobs@LutheranSage I have no problem with either of those texts. They clearly say that faith is demonstrated by word and deed. Faith is not silent but lived out. They also dont negate what the Scripture says about baptism. And I noticed you didnt bother to respond to my request 🤔
@LutheranSage How about this
Read Acts 2:37-39, Acts 9:17-18, Acts 22:15-16, Romans 6:2-4, 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Galatians 3:26-28, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 2:11-14, 1 Peter 3:18-22, Matthew 28:18-20. Now tell me why all of these Scriptures don’t mean what they say. Explain them all away
@ashleysbored It’s not so much our waists but rather the fact that men’s hips are way different than women’s hips for……. uhhhhhh……… reasons…….. that used to be obvious to people
@becomelutheran Baptism. I have a friend that holds an almost Lutheran view of Baptism and he comes to me all the time to asks how to support it in his men’s group where everyone beats up on him for it without supporting their view with the Scripture.
@johntdeck @PastorDeberny Its an argument from silence but also a huge stretch because household in their context would have included everyone under the head of household including spouse & children, extended family in their care, servants & their children, and anyone else being cared for by the head.
