@RetroGameFutur1@RockstarGames You could also sign a petition on my account to get made into a physical disk even though you probably won’t play it. It’s good for everyone else.
J'ai regardé. C'est franchement bien fait. Ça semble vraiment bien.
Est-ce que je l'achèterai ? NON

1/3 🚫 #PSBLACKOUT Continues! We are more than halfway through the boycott week, and let me just say you guys are doing great with spreading the word and commenting on this awesome movement!
Aunque haya oleaje, manteneos firmes.
SAVE THE DISC 📀 SAVE VIDEOGAMES
There are... Many more. ...
@PlayStation
We exist. Lots of us left.
I will not be purchasing a next gen console that is over $1000 CAD
And cannot play my discs.
You want me to digitize 314 games and growing?
Bad form @Sony Bad form
Sony (allegedly), using 3rd party to shutdown YT channels criticising PS.
Received this email.
"You have 3 copyright strikes. Your channel (as well as YouTube channels associated with it) is scheduled to be terminated in 7 days".
11 yrs, 0 strikes, now my channel's terminated?
Had another interview with NBC about the PlayStation situation and the #PSBlackout. Article with comments from yours truly and others who explain why Sony's plans are a bad precedent and a boycott is more than due.
We can't rely solely on regulatory bodies like the FTC to issue warnings to every company, we need these protections made into law
Thanks for your support @JustinBrookman !
🚨 THE SONY PLAYSTATION BLACKOUT ISN’T THE STORY- IT’S THE FLARE!
I’ve spent days on Sony, physical media, digital ownership and the direction PlayStation is heading.
The more I look at it, the more obvious it becomes that this is much bigger than Sony.
The issue is how much control gamers are slowly handing over to corporations, wo realizing what they’re giving up.
For decades, buying a disk game meant something simple. You owned that copy. You could keep it, lend it, sell it, trade it or give it away.
Federal copyright law recognizes that principle through the First Sale Doctrine.
"Then digital gaming changed the equation."👈
Sony, Valve & Nintendo all use language making it clear that digital content is licensed rather than sold outright. That matters because a license doesn’t necessarily carry the same rights as owning a physical copy.
You may pay full price for a game and still have no right to resell it, transfer it or treat it like something you actually own.
"That should concern gamers."
And this is where we need to start paying attention to the law, because a corporation’s Terms of Service do not exist in a vacuum. That means, they aren't above the law- state or federal.
Federal consumer-protection law still prohibits unfair and deceptive practices. Subscription services are subject to rules governing disclosure, consent and cancellation. Credit-card laws may provide dispute protections when something goes wrong.
Laws matter.
California specifically requires clearer disclosure when companies use words like “buy” or “purchase” for digital goods that are actually licenses and may potentially be revoked.
Texas has the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, " they enforce it," and other states have similar consumer-protection laws.
The important part is having knowledge of what those laws do and don’t currently guarantee. There is no broad federal law giving digital games the same resale and transfer rights physical copies have.
There is no blanket guarantee that every digital game you purchase will remain available forever, and there is no automatic digital equivalent of handing your game to somebody else when you’re finished with it.
That gap is where gamers need to start paying attention.
Physical media is shrinking. Used-game competition is shrinking. Subscriptions are growing. Digital licenses are becoming the norm. More purchases depend on accounts, authentication servers and storefronts controlled by the same companies selling the games.
"That gives those companies tremendous leverage."
And rights aren’t lost in one dramatic moment.
They get a diluted revised agreement, a discontinued option, a subscription increase and they're forced into the “I Agree” button at the time.
That’s why I keep talking about the PlayStation blackout. Gamers need to understand that this fight is absolutely necessary and much larger then we assumed.
Sony isn't the only company doing this.
@Sony is one very visible example of where the entire industry could be heading.
Gamers need to know what they’re buying. What “ownership” actually means.
Know your local and federal consumer protections. Keep your receipts and transaction records.
Read major Terms of Service changes instead of blindly accepting them. We are way too fast at clicking!
And when legislation comes up over digital ownership, preservation, subscriptions or consumer rights, pay attention.
Corporations have lawyers protecting their interests.
We gamers had better start protecting ours.
The #PSBlackout isn’t the whole fight.
It’s the warning that made some of us start looking.

@nle_gs@TheGameVerse First, I’m not gonna respond to your ass you fucking troll PS go get a fucking life. No one gives a fuck about what you think. It matters what the fans think not what rockstar thinks.
Tell people online tell people you know to sign the GTA six petition so we can get the game to physical desk and also tell people to protest rockstar as well because they’re the ones that wanted to make it a paper with codes on it instead of physical disc, it’s not only Sony
@TheGameVerse Go on https://t.co/txS3H958RV. You could go on my profile and you can see on my profile a way to sign the petition so we can GTA six made into a physical copy and that we can own
@TheGameVerse Also, we need to start protesting rockstar because they’re also one other reasons that they’re not gonna make a GTA six physical copy, that’s why they also made it a digital code
🚨 THIS IS WHERE IT MATTERS-SONY HAS A NEW PROBLEM-THE BLACKOUT JUST ESCAPED THE GAMING BUBBLE!
Things are getting interesting.
For weeks, Sony could probably look at the #PSBlackout and dismiss it as angry gamers, collectors and preservation advocates making noise on social media. You know, all of us!
Well not anymore. The Genie is out of the bottle!
The Guardian is now covering it. Polygon is covering it. TechRadar, Tom's Hardware, GamesRadar and others are talking about it.
And the conversation is getting bigger than PlayStation.
It's becoming a conversation about ownership. Consumer rights. Preservation. And how much control a corporation should have over something you paid for.
Well Sony should be paying attention to it's consumer base.
The PlayStation blackout runs through August 30, with players being encouraged to stay off PSN and stop spending money in protest of Sony's move away from physical games.
"November 5th is coming"👈
I digress...
Then, right in the middle of that backlash, Sony reminded customers that its software is licensed-not sold.
Um, Read the room, Sony.
Their answer-PlayStation is explaining why you don't really own the digital games you've purchased, Xbox just announced a disc-to-digital program that begins testing August 31.
Insert a supported Xbox disc.
Claim a digital entitlement.
Keep using the physical media. The cool thing is you can play the game across multiple platforms as long as the disc contains Xbox Anywhere.
The timing couldn't make Sony's position look much worse.
Also-there's another date worth remembering:
August 31.
That's also Sony Interactive Entertainment's current deadline to answer or otherwise respond in the consolidated federal Sony Interactive Entertainment Tariff Litigation.
None of this means Sony is suddenly going to reverse course tomorrow. But something important HAS changed.
Gamers aren't screaming into an empty room anymore. The story escaped.
And once a consumer revolt becomes a mainstream conversation about ownership and corporate control, ignoring it becomes a whole lot harder.
Sony wanted an all-digital future.
But, it may have accidentally started a much bigger conversation about whether consumers are willing to live in one.
No Disc. No Buy.
