The primary 1/2 learners have had lots of practice in using various strategies to help them with addition. They are becoming confident in choosing which strategy suits them best, whether it's counters, cubes, numicon, fingers, mental strategies, or number lines.

It was all about addition during numeracy in P1/2 last week. We explored using lots of concrete materials to help us understand the concept and begin to record our sums. Some primary 2's used 10 frames to bridge 10 when adding. @SLCNumeracy
@LeadhillsS @SLCNumeracy @EducationSLC Superb discussion and working out of multiplication and repeated addition from P2 today. Smart wee cookies 🤩
Our You+Me Multiply parent group has been running every Thursday for the last 4 weeks with great success. Our wonderful parents/carers have been learning about numeracy and have been practicing the activities with their children with great success. @CarnwathPrimary @SLCNumeracy
