Calling all adult transition aged individiuals - let's go shopping!!!
The Kensington Valley Civitan Club is our local chapter of Civitan International. Part of the Civitan mission is to build good citizenship by serving individual and community needs. Recently the Kensington Valley Chapter has been awarded a grant to increase engagement of adults with disabilities within our community.
Every second Saturday, from May 9, 2026-September 12, 2026, a free Youth Entrepreneur Market is held in the space just south of BIGGBY Coffee, South Lyon. ANY adult with a disability between the ages of 18-26 years of age are invited to receive vouchers to purchase items from the young entrepreneurs for FREE!
The goal is to provide meaningful community involvement for all! Think about it - our adults with disabilities learn/reinforce purchasing skills (which is a win) AND our young entrepreneurs learn customer service skills as they sell their product (which is also a win)!
Please complete and submit this form to register and to receive the free vouchers upon arrival at the event. https://t.co/qmVqG9pKft

If you have been to any of our events you must have enjoyed observing the friendships and bonds that were created between PEER's and Best Buddies by our commitment to building inclusive environments and reducing the barriers that create social isolation for persons with disabilities.
Feel free to promote on social media to help spread the news. Use the following link to register for the walk or to simply make a donation. Be sure to select SLHS Best Buddies team as you are completing the information. Thank you to all that have donated, we could not do this without your support.
