South Lanarkshire Scottish Conservative and Unionist Group Leader Cllr Alex Allison, the councillors and all group members would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and Best Wishes for 2023! #HappyNewYear2023#SouthLanarkshire
We urge the SNP to seriously consider the concerns of the Scottish people & take adequate & appropriate time to amend the bill to protect the rights of all genders across the board & ensure this bill is not exploited to undermine the safety of vulnerable groups in our society.
As people protested at Holyrood yesterday, the SNP, with the support of many Labour, Green and Lib Dem MSPs, continue to attempt to push this flawed, and frankly dangerous, bill through the Scottish Parliament despite the overwhelming concern voiced by the Scottish public.
There is grave concern that the rushed nature in which the SNP Government is pushing this bill could lead to it being used as a means to exploit loopholes and place vulnerable groups at risk and seriously undermine the rights of the people such a bill should be designed to serve.
Cllr Richard Nelson addresses his concerns regarding the proposed National Care Service Bill, following a motion at the South Lanarkshire Council meeting.
It is time for the SNP Scottish Government to scrap this disastrous bill!

The funding has been authorised and work will begin on the bridge in early 2023. Cllr Allison stated “This is excellent news for the people of Clydesdale East as it will reopen an important route vital to the community.” #SouthLanarkshire#Carstairs#ClydeBridge
The South Lanarkshire Scottish Conservative and Unionist group and Councillor Alex Allison are delighted to announce that the tender for a new Clyde Bridge in Carstairs has been accepted by South Lanarkshire Council.
This will come as very welcome news to the people of Clydesdale East as the bridge has been closed since 2018 when it was deemed too unstable to remain in use.
A clear message from Cllr Richard Lockhart on his concerns with speeding on rural roads and around schools in South Lanarkshire.

The opportunity for SLC to develop a clear and concise protocol surrounding the flags at Almada Street will ensure that a far wider demographic of our community will have the chance to be celebrated, supported and remembered at one of the great landmarks of South Lanarkshire
Today saw South Lanarkshire Council accept a proposal by Scottish Conservative and Unionist Councillor Kenny McCreary that SLC develop a new protocol surrounding which flags are flown outside SLC Headquarters in Almada Street, Hamilton. #SLCouncil#Flags#Protocol
Cllr Clark stated that the SNP amendment would allow SLC to reflect the diversity of our community. What about the people of SL who consider themselves to be Scottish & British? What about Unionists? Does their representation not matter? Clearly not in the eyes of the SNP.
The South Lanarkshire Scottish Conservative and Unionist Group urge the Scottish Government to assign more funding to Local Councils as a matter of urgency to ensure that people across Scotland are not faced with choice of heating their homes or putting food on their tables.
Yesterday’s South Lanarkshire Council Executive Committee Meeting saw the presentation of a paper outlining the Cost of Living Supports that SLC will have in place to attempt to aid the people of South Lanarkshire with the current Cost of Living Crisis.
However, it is all too apparent that despite the best efforts with the resources available, further funding is required for Local Councils to offer the best possible support to residents.
