This morning, we honored the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
We are saddened each time a new name is added to the Missouri Law Enforcement Memorial’s Wall of Honor, but we are moved by the officers’ heroism, the strength of their families, and the unity of the brothers and sisters of law enforcement who gathered here today.
The Missouri Capitol dome shines blue this weekend as we honor and remember the law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
It takes great courage, strength, and commitment for law enforcement officers to put on their uniform each day knowing that their duty requires them to run toward the dangers that others flee. We have a responsibility to honor the fallen and ensure they are never forgotten.
Six bronze plaques have been added to the Missouri Law Enforcement Memorial in preparation for ceremonies this week.

None of this happens without the leadership of @TonyForMissouri. It’ll never be talked about enough, but behind the scenes, he had significant influence over negotiations that ushered this bill to a vote while holding our desired positions. We owe him a debt of gratitude.
Without the support of @travisfitzwater, @NickBSchroer, and @BradChristForMO, HB 495 wouldn’t be a reality. They stepped up, put public safety first, & delivered real results to protect our communities & give law enforcement the tools they need to fight crime. Thank you all!
At the beginning of session, Republican Senators made a promise to make Missouri communities safer. This evening, President Pro Tem Cindy O'Laughlin signed HB 495, putting Missourians one step closer to making this promise a reality.
Up next: being signed into law by Governor Kehoe! #MoLeg #MoSen
I applaud the work @BradChristForMO, @NickBSchroer, and @travisfitzwater have done to keep our community safe. Their bill is an important step in restoring law and order to the streets of St. Louis and will help make the region stronger.
Missourians deserve to feel safe in their own communities, and HB 495 is a major step forward in the fight against violent crime. This bill ensures law enforcement has the support and oversight needed to do their jobs, making our neighborhoods safer for families and businesses.
Applications for the Missouri Blue Shield Program are now open!📣
Counties, cities, and towns that are making public safety and support of law enforcement a priority should be recognized, and we are proud to launch this program as part of our Safer Missouri initiative.

An NYPD officer was shot by a career criminal—and still walked away. The suspect left on a gurney. Why was this violent offender even on the street? How many more officers have to face this? We’re just grateful the officer wasn’t hurt worse.
Pass the Protect and Serve Act, protect those who are willing to sacrifice everything.
