Today, I received the Elders of our great party, the Sierra Leone People’s Party, SLPP.
Our seasoned Elders are the guiding light of our Party. Their collective wisdom, experience and dedication remains relevant and invaluable in our quest to build a more peaceful and prosperous #SierraLeone.
Our exchange availed me the opportunity to thank them for their unwavering support towards my Government’s BIG FIVE GAME CHANGER national development agenda.
As Leader of the Party, I reiterated my commitment to leading the Party and the country towards the realisation of the vision of the SLPP to build ONE COUNTRY, ONE PEOPLE through a united, peaceful and progressive nation where our people have access to decent jobs, food and education and healthcare services with equal justice and equal opportunity for all. 🌴
Today, in line with my Government’s commitment to pursuing a transformative path towards a more sustainable and secure energy future, we launched Sierra Leone’s first National Climate Resilience And Energy Transition Dialogue.
This Dialogue aimed at developing a Just and Inclusive Energy Transition Plan and a Climate Resilient Agricultural and Food Systems Strategy for the country will galvanise input from the public and private sectors, development partners and civil society organisations.
During my Keynote Address, I highlighted the dangers that we face as a nation due to climate variability and #climatechange, which affect citizens and make climate adaptation efforts more pressing as rapid changes in weather patterns erode the productivity of local water and food systems and generate unintended consequences for sustainable development.
I also shared my Government’s medium and long-term vision for energy, including comprehensive energy sector reforms to provide the enabling environment to achieve at least 300MW of new generation capacity by 2028 including a significant share of renewable energy, and mobilising investments for 1GW energy generation capacity over the next 10-15 years for local consumption and export in the sub-region.
Our country must unlock its huge #renewableenergy potential and combine this with conventional energy to light up and power our homes and businesses.
This National Dialogue is a step in the right direction to build strategic partnerships on #energy that allow us to reach a greater level of ambition and delivery.
With our collective effort, we shall achieve our vision of transforming #SierraLeone into a regional leader in #cleanenergy access, climate resilience and #foodsecurity.
Very proud of Sierra Leone for showing the world that “countries do not have to wait until they are rich to start saving women’s lives”! What we need is a strong commitment to improving maternal health. Let’s keep pushing Sierra Leone - there is a lot more work to do 💪🏾🙌🏾💕🇸🇱💎🌍
Today, as we celebrate #InternationalYouthDay2023, I am filled with immense pride and hope for the future of our nation.
As the torchbearers of tomorrow, our young people are the driving force behind our development, innovation, and progress.
This day serves as a reminder of the pivotal role that our youths play in shaping #SierraLeone into a better and brighter nation.
My Government remains more committed to implementing policies and programmes to empower our youths to take charge of their destinies to live meaningful and dignified lives.
Through formal education, vocational training and mentorship programmes, we will provide the tools and conducive environment for our young people to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
My Government has matched words with action by appointing one of the youngest and most diversified Cabinet in the history of our country.
I urge all young Sierra Leoneans to embrace their potential as agents of positive change. Your ideas, energy, and passion are the building blocks for a stronger and more resilient nation.
Together, we can tackle the challenges that lie ahead, from climate change to economic disparity, and create a future where every citizen has the opportunity to succeed.
Let us uphold the values of tolerance, respect, and inclusivity as we forge ahead towards a brighter tomorrow.
Happy International #YouthDay to the vibrant youths of Sierra Leone!
May your determination and creativity continue to inspire us all.
Today, I convened the first Cabinet meeting of my new 5-year mandate to serve the great people of #SierraLeone.
My new Cabinet is a crucible of talented and accomplished Sierra Leoneans, cutting across different ages, gender, tongues and tribes ~ representing our progressive aspirations to bring sustainable development and social progress to our nation.
These distinguished countrymen and women are poised to support the Honorable Vice-President @VP_Jalloh and I as we embark upon a new five-year mandate that echoes the call for continuity.
The significantly increased number of Women and young people appointed in my new Government signals a renaissance for meaningful development and socioeconomic progress in our country.
I admonished every Cabinet Minister and their Deputies to administer their tasks with honour and integrity and to always put the needs of the people above personal interests.
Together, we will do our best with the help of the Almighty God to improve the quality of life of our Citizens.

During my Address at the State Opening of the 1ST Session of the 6TH Parliament of the 2ND Republic, I used the occasion to share my Government’s plans towards revamping and revitalizing the economy through our new five-year mandate that echoes the call for continuity.
The “New Direction: Consolidating the Gains and Accelerating Transformation” Agenda encapsulates the spirit of progress, seizing the newfound opportunities we have forged while confronting emerging challenges to propel #SierraLeone towards middle-income status by 2035.
As espoused in our SLPP People's Manifesto, which we used to campaign to citizens with our message of #hope, #unity and #prosperity, my new Government’s national development agenda will emphasise five key initiatives that will shape the course of our nation.
These initiatives which include: Feed SaLone, Human Capital Development, Youth Employment Scheme, Revamping the Public Service Architecture, and Technology and Infrastructure Initiative, will help usher sustainable development and social progress in our nation.
The Opening of the 6TH Parliament of the 2ND Republic marks a new beginning and we are confident that it has set the stage for greater things to come, as we journey to nationhood. ~ PART 2/2

Today, I received the Certificate of Return from the @ECsalone Chief Electoral Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohamed Kenewui Konneh and his delegation.
I re-dedicate our victory at the June 24th, 2023 polls to the great people of #SierraLeone, who for their confidence in our result-oriented leadership re-elected us to lead our nation for another term of 5 years.
I reiterate our commitment to continue to serve Sierra Leone with passion and sincerity of purpose.

Today, I met with the Farmers Federation and Traders Union, as part of our efforts to swiftly commence with our flagship national development priority, namely the FEED SALONE Initiative.
This flagship initiative is geared to boost #agricultural productivity to ensure #foodsecurity and inclusive #economicgrowth in our nation.
Our farmers and traders will serve as the fulcrum for the seamless implementation of the FEED SALONE Initiative.
The consultative meeting was very productive and I look forward to their unwavering support towards the actualisation of this important flagship initiative to boost food production, reduce hunger and poverty, create jobs, increase export earnings, build resilience to ensure food security and spur inclusive economic growth in #SierraLeone.

Thank you for congratulating Sierra Leone on a successful and peaceful election. However, using faulty, scanty and unverified 'evidence' from a CSO you finance to again discredit the election is problematic!#decolonizedevelopment
This is what happens when entitled white males with savior complexes want to prove their belief about people- that these Africans must be poor and barbaric. Imagine taking a short video clip of violence from a street corner in America and making it about the White House and USA?
What's happening in #SierraLeone is that the SLPP (🟢) are using violence to distract from the robbery of democracy. It's done to intimidate locals and to push observers and democratic nations to call for 'peace' instead of holding election thieves accountable. Don't fall for it.
In March this year, my Government unveiled the new Freetown International Airport (FNA, commonly known as “Lungi Airport”) with a firm promise to revolutionise air travel and #tourism and enhance Sierra Leone’s sustainable #economicgrowth and #development.
Today, I received with great enthusiasm the news of Sierra Leone’s sterling performance during the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Universal Safety Oversight Audit of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority and the Freetown International Airport to corroborate the certification of the worthiness of “Lungi Airport” as an international airport.
After 2 weeks of the @icao Universal Safety Oversight Audit, #SierraLeone received an average rating of 75% of the total score. This is welcome progress as I pledged when I assumed office in 2018 to make Sierra Leone a competitive tourist destination that is safe, reliable, efficient, affordable and a hub for #aviation activities in the sub-region.
I commend the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Kabineh Kallon, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, and their team members for this laudable achievement.
I thank the @icao officials for the assessment that Sierra Leone has made tremendous achievements in the aviation sector. I look forward to receiving the Final Report.
We will not rest on our oars until we achieve our vision of making Sierra Leone a competitive touristic destination and a hub for aviation activities in the @ecowas_cedeao region.

My ambition for #Freetown and #SierraLeone remains high. That is why I endorsed Mohamed Gento Kamara (@gento_kamara), the Man of the People as the SLPP Mayoral candidate for Freetown.
Over the years, Mohamed Gento a prolific entrepreneur has demonstrated a strong capacity to solve problems. His deep understanding and connection with the grassroots make him a perfect fit for the job. As one of the largest employers in the private sector, I am confident that he understands the plight and needs of the people, especially the grassroots.
Mohamed Gento is able and ready to roll up his sleeves to work tirelessly with our SLPP Government and with communities in Freetown to bring meaningful transformation that will benefit the people.
He will be the Freetown Mayor who will court the people and seek their partnership, rather than extraneous adulations which are inconsequential to the needs of the grassroots Freetownians.
Together, we will work with the People and for The People! 🌴

Right across the country, strong members of the opposition parties are pledging to the Sierra Leone People's Party. Their primary reason is because of the progressive DEVELOPMENT being done by the party like schools, bridges, health facilities, jobs, welfare, institution building
Just like five years ago when I launched the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) New Direction Manifesto, which earned the Citizen’s trust and confidence to lead as the fifth President of our great Republic, I officially launched the SLPP People’s Manifesto and Campaign 2023 on Tuesday 23/05/2023.
The People’s Manifesto titled “The New Direction: Consolidating Gains and Accelerating Transformation” is designed to sustain the momentum already built in the past 5 years and position #SierraLeone on the path of irreversible progress.
Our Manifesto gives a full account of our stewardship in the last five years while outlining our plans for the next five years. It also represents a new social contract between the great SLPP under my leadership and the people of Sierra Leone.
My running mate @VP_Jalloh and I invite all progressive-minded Sierra Leoneans to join us in our efforts to secure a prosperous future for Sierra Leone.
We all must show up and vote for the SLPP on June 24th to ensure our country stays on the right path towards sustainable economic development and social progress.
THE FUTURE OF SIERRA LEONE IS ALL OF US. 🌴
