Here’s a question for any attorneys in your group: Can third party insurers who feel wrongly graded be able to file a motion to intervene in the 11th Circuit appeal (if one is filed)? The ruling is broad enough to show an impact throughout the industry. I’m curious if CMS would lean against appeal for the sake of limiting this recalculation to one insurer.

The court essentially voided 20 measures.
-10 for data outside of section requirements.
-10 for failure to notice & comment.
Here’s what’s interesting:
Recalculation depends on how CMS implements the order (for example, how the other measures will be weighted),
But excluding all 20 leads us to ~4.3 stars.
CLOV should be comfortably at 4 stars, with the possibility of the 4.5 star range depending on final methodology.
Granted, this assumes no appeals or other crazy unforeseens, etc.
Buckle up. ☘️
@NickelDimerBets I hope your basketball picks are better than your stock commentary. Because the latter isn’t just bad… it’s flat out wrong. Consistently.
After this brutal season, I cant lie.
I’m actually excited Xabi Alonso gets 1 game a week to prep for.
Chelsea title contenders 2027.
BlueCo, stay out of the way and let the man cook.
Conference tournaments are tricky.
For example, losses in the SEC tournament don’t matter. At all. But wins do. If you win 2 or 3 games in the SEC tournament, even being .500 in your conference… expect HUGE movement… more than likely Top 8 guaranteed. Pundits get really really excited. They’ll say things like “getting hot at the right time”, or “this team is the real deal”. Expect big movement if you get swept by a team during the regular season, but win 1 game against them at 11:20am on a rainy Wednesday in Hoover, Alabama.
If you drive an hour away, you’ll reach Montgomery, Alabama. Same sport, but things are much, much different.
Losses in conferences such as the Sunbelt matter A LOT. You could be top 10 in the country, but if you lose 1 game, you’ll become a bubble team. Wins matter too, but it’s a negative correlation. Wins hurt you and losses hurt you. Showing up to a Sunbelt tournament is equivalent to going on a 15 game losing streak. I’d suggest they cancel it altogether, but that would also be viewed negatively. “I can’t rank that team higher than Florida, John… they don’t even have a conference tournament”.
Good luck navigating the nuance of the experts.
Hot take:
Buffett’s $UNH purchase will be similar to BRK’s purchase of airlines in 2017.
He eventually sold for a $4b loss in 2020.
“The world has changed” for the aviation industry, Buffett acknowledged after the sell.
The world is definitely changing in healthcare.

It was always an uphill battle, I agree.
Anyone invested should assume next year is a 3.5 star year. Management has stated the model works with or without bonus payments. Should they win (again, very difficult), 4 stars is an extremely strong tailwind that is not priced in.
Any news will be an opportunity for short-term volatility impacting price. Temporary dips are possible. But keep in mind, that 5% can be fully offset by maturing cohorts and management's pause on rampid growth.
CMS: The Star Ratings do not govern payment for services, eligibility, or scope of benefits... therefore we should be able to do whatever we want with them. 🤔🤔 Interesting take.
