Both great but Rickey was better in general and leading off specifically. Aggregiously underrated. #1 all time in SB by a wide margin, more than double Lofton. #2 all time in walks behind Bonds but ahead of Ruth. One of only 2 players (Ty Cobb the other) with over 13,000 PA and a .400+ career OBP. Rickey is a top 20 all time position player (100+ WAR) and Lofton doesn't quite crack the top 100 (62 WAR).

As someone who works in the industry - spot on. 2 thoughts:

While all the factors you listed are true, I think the main factor that drove AI adoption in software development was that AI is built by software developers - so the use case they understand best is coding AND they have a strong incentive to solve that use case because they want/need to go faster.

One other random thought: AI-coding has moved quicker than AI-operations. With new software being created so fast, there might be a short-term spike in IT/AI operations jobs.
